If you skip past the current set of enemy mechs firing at you, you can destroy one that isn't activated yet. Doing this causes later mechs to not activate, which in turn makes the gauntlet a walk through the park.

Mmm... It was enough for me just to kill a mech (active) to stop every other mech from being operational later.

Yeah, I just shot at the active mechs and after a lap or two in everything I tried, all mechs would be inactive.

Seems like a bug to me. One would expect a course reset with either new mechs in new positions or original mechs restored, much like the player's mech.

Funny thing, the hit animation is also swithched off by this bug. E.g. Mechs do not recoil taking AC/20 or PPC hit and normally they do.

I had this "Once they're dead, they're dead" issue, but when I ran the repair tool and re-started the game, it fixed it. Now, if you kill them, a fresh one spawns in their place, ready to shoot. It's now not a good idea to do so. It's better to just shoot to disable. Not sure what the cutoff is. Might be like 10 damage, perhaps less.

they haven't shot at me at all without any actions from my side. Just start challange and started runing pass all mechs - all they did are:
40% it's just turning towards me.
30% just stood still
30% shut down when i approached.

tried 4 times all the same - what are they sopposed to do? shoot at me  ? not a single shot was fired that day

Not sure if this is working as intended, ran through 1st gauntlet firing at everything, then a walk through on all subsequent runs - better perhaps to just have the appropriate number of Mechs randomly spawn in the points for each circuit? Otherwise, good idea.

Oh one other thing, try not to hide Mechs behind the smoke waypoints - even with heat vision this didn't pick them out for me.

Why do you call this a cheat?
