Here's Dennis De Koning on custom mech hangars.
"The customization of hangars is something that I've thought of and have put on the table.
We're in the process of recreating the hangar to be 360' view-able, but as a 'when-there's-time-to-work-on-it' kind of project which means no hard due date. The next step could lead to them being customize-able, at least as much as posting faction banners. It's not carved in stone (yet), but I see it as a stretch goal."
Well great!
Getting it on the table is step 1.
Step 2 is keeping it somewhere on their minds, and showing them the community wants this feature.
Step 3 is showing PGI its good FOR THEM.
I truly hope they move up these steps because people are already doing this in other games, bigger budget games that will draw players, any by proxy, funding, away from PGI.
Making "Big changes" such as that would mean more marketing, more returning players, and more billable playtime for PGI.
Not making such "big cosmetic changes for the better" would mean the game stagnates, looses players, and slowly, but surely dies.
If they think many MWO players won't simply leave the game to play Star Citizen (especially steam players who are not BT fans) when that game gets its FPS add-on, or shockingly, actually gets completed, they are sadly mistaken.
Upgrades such as this are a BIG way in which PGI can keep MWO fresh, exciting, innovative and cutting edge for people who are not that much into BT that they would still play it and spend money on it if it had 8-bit graphics.
This is good for players, good for PGI, and should be a major goal scheduled right after CW Phase3 and PVE campaigns.
