My KDR and WLR have always been exactly the same. Only recently I started playing more 65+ tonner Clan mechs that my KDR has accelerated faster than my winrate.
I also tracked my solo queue stats separately for a while a few months ago.
WLR in solo queue back then was 1.11 across 544 total matches.

winrate past 50% is definitely hard to 'accelerate', but to get 50% should be easier than 1:1 kd

If that is the measure of your fun meter... then good for j00!
For others.... setting out with a goal in mind other than k/d ratios (support, scout, harasser, headhunter, etc), we don't have a measure because we enjoy it all.

I've been doing that- not on purpose for ages. my w/l is always within 10-15 of each other after the best/worst streaks. currently

When I first started playing I had no mechs, no equipment and no money. I bought a Firebrand for the 30% cbill bonus and started to grind.
My primary tactic was to have no idea what I was doing and hope for the best which got me down to a 0.63 W/L ratio.
Getting to 1:1 was a hard slog but now I find it stays pretty much there regardless of how I play.
