I took a long break but since I've been back I've been playing my Pretty Baby:

PRETTY BABY

You don't see too many of them, and really, there are many better mechs, but if you keep moving you can wreck with this thing.

(I use the LPL range and cooldown modules)

Is it a Locust?

Then that's my ride. All the Locusts; I drive them.

Stock JM6-FB Firebrand. Never touched the base loadout, never needed to. When I've had a run of bad matches or I feel like a comfortable game I bring it out again and it never lets me down. It handles right, feels right, and brings the pain like a champ every time ^_^

i met you :3 even made a post somewhere about an unkillable spider

Lol, been seeing you about quite a lot lately and always approach with caution from behind(no pun intended) where possible. Prefer it when we're on the same team.

On the unkillable part I was in a match yesterday with two of the AC's on the other team and happened to get 4 kills so the guys on the other team commented on me using my easy play crutch mech, that made me laugh. But as the OP says its about what you feel most comfortable playing and the spidey has been my mech since the day it was released, literally years.

I keep trying others but invariably they just don't seem to move in the same way for me, I know my mighty alpha slays all those around me, but in general I don't get many kills or high damage just enjoy playing this mech more than all others.

Summoner, decades of nostalgia. TT (1982ish) - MWO (present).

Oddly, 1st experience with them was a bad one. My best friends brother GMimg a game, and every. single. time. we accomplished some mission............... another F'ing Summoner appeared to wreck us. It was like he could not stand to "lose" as a GM, so he just threw endless summoners at us until we were down. I even tried to use them in Netmech (Grand Council), but they seemed to have hitbox issues.

Now, its pure Jade Falcon nostalgia.

I really enjoy Dragons, guess I have a thing for the underdogs. Didn't have time to play them much lately, so many mech packs, so little time... but sooner or later I always come back and drop in my Dragons, especially the Flame and the 1C. I miss the onld 5N AC/2 dakka Dragon, have hardly touched it since the AC/2 nerfs and UAC/5 quirks... perhaps take if for a spin again when that lost CD module finally arrives...

Another Catapult pilot here.

I have this thing that a mech for me ... has to be a chickenwalker. All those humanoid mechs are just so plain and boring. I did also play a lot of flight sims in my younger days, and heavy rocket barrages or fire and forget missiles are just fun. During my days in MW 2, 3 and 4 I always ended up in a Timberwolf. It got a look i liked and could pack dual launchers backed up with support weapons, heavy armor and speed. It was just perfect for me. The catapult back then? Fugly, never used it ... yuck.

When I started MWO closed beta we didn't have much to chose from, but behold, Alex had done magic with the old fugly Cat. I loved the new catapult from the moment I saw it, it had all the features I liked with the Timberwolf, mean looks, good armament, good armor and speed. I tried the variants and decided that the C1 was the ultimate one. Two big launchers and four lasers, I can support and I can brawl. Again, the perfect mech for me.

Well, things have happened since then. ECM, hardpoint inflation ... the Cat dropped behind. New chickenwalkers arrived, some just different, others actually better, and I tried them all. Finally, wooohoo, the Timberwolf.

I try to like it, and because I got the (I) version I've made it my main mech. Still ... it's just meh. The ripple fire LRM's makes it lack punch even if the lasers are better, it's not as grim loooking anymore (compared to the Cat) and the limitation of omnimech customization makes it just not quite what it was.

So even with a stable with pretty much every chickenwalker there is (skipped some clanners) I often end up in my Aurora M1A (Mech 1, Variant A), my first mech, my good old CPLT-C1. It may be oversized and have limited hardpoints, but everytime I see that cockpit and feel how it feels to drive ... I just feel good ... I feel at home.

LCT-1V (P)

None of my mechs has seen more drops, even before the over-quirkening. Bringing a soft cotton ball to a gun fight. Making an obvious statements that not all mechs are created equal. Increasing the challenge both for me and the unlucky few i drop with.

mine has evolved a bit over time. the go-to mech when I wanted to have decent outings or when some sort of tourney was on.

in the beginning it was the Hunchy 4sp in te early days when mechs were few. then for a brief time the Jenner F and the Cent AH(L) with da boomstick took over for a little bit before the longest lasting of them- the streaktaro 18 found its way to my favorites spot. finally I found the enforcer 4R of all things became and is still currently my go-to mech (though the ENF 4P is also making itself heard lately) when the going gets tough.

if I want to play something to relax/have fun with then it's urbie time- any of them, cause urbie.
