Thank you! The real thanks go to the Devs, though: they have created this great opportunity for us to come together, a game which we are all excited about, and a forum on which to discuss it. Thanks Russ, Paul, Garth - everyone at PGI :D

Though, they give some legit lulz from time to time.

I can't agree more. This is one of the most frendly and excited online communitits that i've ever been a part of.

Something about Battletech just draws good people I think. :D

These are people that hang out on a forum for a game that has yet to recieve a release date!

Thats being a true fan.

These forums are very good, but Paradox's is even better. The maturity and DEEP, DEEP discussion on strategy is absolutely amazing. However, you have to be into games like Europa Universalis, Victoria, or Crusader Kings to enjoy that community.

Gotta agree so far. For a F2P game that isn't even in open beta yet, this game has a very large following already.

Although I think the true test of the community will come when the NDA lifts and more info starts getting posted. That's when people lose their minds over things they're convinced will ruin the game if the devs don't change immediately.

The fact is that the Battletech/Mechwarrior franchise/IP has been one that's stuck in limbo for almost a decade. You have a generation of gamers who've grown up on COD/BF/whatever and have no knowledge of this great universe.

I'm hoping that MW:O will resurrect this IP and draw in new fans, both for the game and it's TT incarnations.

For that to happen, the entire MW:O community is required to unite and progress as a whole. Make people feel welcomed. Help out newbies who are not knowledgeable of the lore/canon. Provide constructive criticism once the Beta NDA is lifted, etc.
