Is It Wrong To Love My Xl Hunchie 4P?

Now I can't get enuff of the mech. Rarely have less the 400 to 500 damage per match and find that it is very survivable if used correctly. It works well at range group firing the large lasers together and has enuff stamina and backed by the small lasers is a fairly competent brawler if needed.
So is it heresy to like this build?

Alternatively you can pack LPLs for the shorter duration and ML synergy. HBK-4P Facemelter

I guess its better to punch back as hard as you can with speed than to slowly creep in and walk out as a stick that can't fight anyway.

Yes. Seek counseling. IMMEDIATELY.
(Though I often have run XL HBKs for giggles, but just not really my thing)

I still run my 4P, and as a matter of fact, prefer taking it over my 4G (mostly due to A/C20 frailty).
I still run it with the good 'ol STD engine and 9 MLasers. It is definently an exercise in heat management, but I tend to do really well with it.
An XL with LLasers sounds OK to me. It's not my preferred setup, but I see the merits. It does after all have pretty high weapon hard points after all.
Great mech that's never wrong to love.

I was running an XL 4P like this HBK-4P
Peeked OK in Under-hive matches, but died a lot against decent players.
Did a little better like this
HBK-4P
but I must stress a LITTLE, lol

Yeah I definitely run my Grid Iron with Gauss and 3MPL. Guilty as charged. That being said I die way more to CT than my Hunch being blown up anymore.
Definitely ran a match recently where a guy was laughing on our team over VOIP because he caught a hunch on the other team running XL and popped him early on. I kept my mouth shut during the match because I was running my GI with XL. Ended up with 4 kills, 7 assists and 700+ damage. We had a good laugh about it during the end screen.
Biggest thing is if you are running an XL Engine you have to treat it differently and be better at torso twisting and good at managing your alpha's.

I used the 3 lplas on the P to master it. IS mlas range can be a pain in pugs.
