Tier 1 is going to be populated entirely by pug LRM boats.

1) Yep drop pug 99% of the time

2) Yep I retired in 2014, recently installed AMD's plays TV and it said I played 41 hours in one week, about a week and a half ago

3) yep sort of feast or famine my Streak Wolf before PSR would get top damage almost every time I took it out

I feel that top players will still be tier 1

Since the PSR patch my kill to death has gone from .92 to .91 (it takes a lot deaths to change kill to death)

To me the game is tanking I feel like I am part of some behavior modification experiment (drop on one map get roll stomped then get dropped on the same map to get roll stomped again)

The bottom line is before the PSR the pug area was fun after the PSR the game is not fun

I get about 1 fun match a day

now I dont even care what my PSR will be

I'm probably Tier 4 or 3.. I'd be suprised if it was anything higher than that.. I'm certainly not Tier 5..

Your personal tier level is going to be displayed in the mech lab, no matter the results of the poll so everyone is going to know what tier they are rated. The outcome of the poll is if other people can see your tier rating.

If I get good, competitive games, I couldn't give a flying Cheetah's backflip what tier I'm in. I'm certainly not looking forward to the endless forum arguments and e-peen'ing that's going to erupt if the tiers go public, however. A good idea is a good idea, whether it comes from a tier-1 player or a tier-4 player.

Actually MM let tier 1 play against tier 2 and 3, if pgi has told us the truth.

But being in a team and having that tag mean nothing.

I have a bunch of alt.accounts and one of them is totally new (3-4days, with trial mechs only) so tier 4 or 5 for sure and I'm meeting 228 and SJR regularly.

Update:

Started a fresh alt for CWz. It was seeded in "high Tier 4" like all new accounts. Within a few games, I was running into dudes from SJR.

Tinfoil hat confirmed. Comp teams are going to be seeded way lower than they should and puglords will rule Tier 1.

Edit: MM should only look for exact matches unless you've been searching for over 60s according to Russ. So the maximum spread is a very poor baseline.

I disagree with the logic that the best players in the game don't also get the highest match scores. Just because there is some teamwork involved doesn't absolutely negate player's ability to achieve high damage scores. It is an assumption that because there is teamwork that damage scores are spread out amongst an entire team. There is purely hypothetical and there is no proof or data.

I think the best players in the game will be tier 1, because they are the best. The OP is over-analyzing. When trying to reach a conclusion the most obvious and simple answer is often the best one.

The frst days after PSR launched I got really good teams on both sides, and to be honest you had to work hard to break 400 damage, which was perfectly fine because in most games noone was above 500 and 2-3 kills, and everyone was above 250 damage.

Now, not so much. Dunno if its because very loose constraints in the MM, or because I dropped two Tiers... had a 1250 dmg/7 kills game yesterday which is a huge sickness sign of fail MM.

Im perfectly fine also with the fact, that cheaters will play against themselfs in T1. faaaaar away from my matches.

Bad assumpion, you could be as high as tier two, you can go up or down two tiers.
