i havent played a jumpie assault probably since the clans dropped, does anyone else think a little more thrust is needed (quicker to get into the air)

Here, let me save you some time:
The Executioner is fine, maybe you need to learn to play.
I can jump into special spots with my Executioner, therefore it's fine.
Not all mechs are supposed to be OP, stop whining.
That's how it is in tabletop. Scrub.
The Executioner is unimportant, let's talk about the recent Timberwolf nerfs instead because that's the mech I play.
Do you want the game to return to the POPTART META? I was there and it was awful. Executioner is fine!
Assaults are not supposed to jump like other mechs. Working as intended.
Jumpjets were recently buffed therefore your argument is invalid.
Paul said Assault Jumpjets are fine so they're fine.

They still feel too much like hoverjets. Theres not enough "jump" in them.

Yes, I do think that jumps should be performed more forcefully but unfortunately PGI doesn't share the same thought.
The 4 JJs on the EXE can get you to some pretty high places just like Yosharin said if it could be of any consolation.

Well, you aren't alone. There's more than one person that thinks JJs weren't nerfed correctly in the attempt to combat poptarting. I can't entirely disagree, though lights and mediums are in a better place than they were, assaults' JJs are still kinda underwhelming.
Considering the amount of tonnage it takes to mount the bloody things on an assault, they could probably use some beefing up. Right now, I can barely get the EXE on top of small structures before running out of juice.

Right but assaults shouldnt jump as well as other weight classes.
Hence why the tradeoff for having more thrust should be less fuel. Make it so Assaults can jump as well as other weight classes but in much shorter bursts.

Paul has done exactly this on the last Class I JJ adjustment. How much more do you wanna go?

they always, in the lore, tlak about using JJ's to pass rough teerrain. Makign the assaults jump up fast and funny, brings the poptarting back. which actually was not much of a good gamesytle in terms of mech combats. However if JJ's would have a Jumps quickly to a height X and then keeps hovering + some forward push past max speed. Assoults could use JJ's to quickly get up specific lower obstacles, and alos to use JJ's as a temporarly forward dedicatd mobility boost. But the Way how thy work currently is truly like starting a spaceshuttle. But in MWO we speak of 100t not 2.000

Until it feels right?
They still feel like hoverjets not jumpjets.

With nerfed PPC velocity and Gauss chargeup? Even with buffed assault jumpjets, Poptarting isnt really going to be a significant threat compared to laser vomit builds.
What made poptarting devastating was when all the weapons had similar projectile velocity stats and they all hit the same location simultaneously for 40+ damage. That doesnt exist anymore.
And if it really is a problem the simple fix is to make the reticle shake for 5-10 seconds after jumpjets are disabled, so the reticle still shakes while youre falling.
The point is assault jumpjets shouldnt be punished because of something that isnt really a problem and can be easily fixed if it becomes a problem.
