I wouldn't call MechWarrior 4 a step in its evolution.

It was more like... stumbling. Tripping, maybe. Possibly falling backwards.

Well MS may have had something to do with that.

I just downloaded mechwarrior 1 on the pc a few days ago and having fun going through it.

I always consider MW4 a step backward for MW......MW2 Mercs and MW3 are the best MW game in my opinion..

As a game should be. Sticking with what works. the fundamentals never changed, the graphic just got better and the depth of the game just got perfected.

Mechwarrior 3 was the stumbling block.....although the little people running around that screamed and died as they were crushed or zapped provided some entertainment...

Nonsense. That's just MW4 swag. And sometimes you do stumble when you're carrying so much weight on your back :P

I had the most fun with Mechwarrior 1, its a shame the others never lived up to their full potential, but im sure MWO will

Interesting storyline (kinda) that you could ignore and just do contracts forever if you wish, then pick it up again when you want to.
