Tired of just watching the matchmaker search for a match, while you're unable to do anything?

Want a really simple mini-game that will let you earn c-bills and XP for your mechs while you're waiting?

Do you think realistic graphics with millions of different colours in super high resolution are overrated?


EDIT: It's finished, yay! Kind of halfassed, but... well, how many hours can you really spend making a silly thing like this?

I think I want to do an animation like this:

• Player starts with Awesome or some other mech. Clicks 'Next mech' and the screen pans right to the Highlander.
  
• Highlander selects 'Attack' and 'AC20', shooting one of the Clan mechs.
  
• The computer goes next, selecting its Shadowcat. It jumps into the air, fires its gauss rifle and scores a critical hit.
  
• Player clicks 'Next mech' and the animation loops back to the Awesome.

Let's see if I can do all that before running out of steam

I'll be pixelling the Highlander-model from behind and animating this to look like a real Final Fantasy-style Gameboy game. Just starting a WIP thread to keep me motivated.

I like it....

but a question, is this "MM Wait issue" a CW problem or something? Because people are making a big fuss, but I almost never have waited over a minute for drop...and can't think of one time it was over 2, outside CW.

Thanks! Apparently, it's a problem for CW and group queue (presumably if you limit the option of server location and game mode). It's never a problem for solo queue, at least on American or European servers.

MWO is hardly the worst FPS or MMO in this regard. But yeah, it would be nice to have a minigame. Or no queues

Your mock-up is very good and I hope it inspires someone to develop the real game.

Here is an excel sheet I made to generate the mechs' stats for the game I want to do. I fill the actual numbers in one tab and it returns in the other the simplified stats used in the game. (download the sheet, because the visualization in the browser messes with the tables)

Looks like something that I would have played on my 8088!
