Is the XP the hard part for other people?
I started a fresh alt the other day and I'm going to end up having enough EXP to fully Master my basic-locked TDR-9SE and then some by the time I have enough c-bills to buy my 5SS - let alone my 5S. I already have more than enough for full Elites just waiting on the 3x Mech unlock =/.
First win of the day bonus can be a truckload of XP if you get a good game in with it.
No, not the xp. It's the C-bill.
Specifically, the c-bill required to buy 3 variants to unlock elite, which I only need the empty chassis but is forced to buy the full loaded mech and sell the engine.
That's a lot of c-bill down the drain just for maybe one or two variants I enjoy, which I could've spent on other mechs for different play-style. Not to mention some of the worst variants that players have to grind through in order to be competitive with that one good variant.

I actually like that bit. at least you'll know how to pilot the mech you want by the time you've done them
That's like saying doing your time in jail is good because it allows you to study and by the time you've done you can at least have a community college degree or something.
You're forced through it and there's no choice.
