So I am loving the Mauler. It is a great mech and I am enjoying all of the variants.

But now there are so many missiles that it is blotting out the sun!

Not that I mind the LRM boating coming back in strength and blowing the ECM bubbles, but wow; LRM 60 racks.

"It's raining missiles, hallelujah!"

It's a change, you have to position yourself in overhead cover. For someone just transitioning to large lasers from LRMs it's a change, you have to think about shielding and radar deprivation is a must.

How is it blowing the ECM bubbles? If you bring ECM it still hard counters LRMs. Its not like the Mauler has any kindve special anti-ECM tech.

For LRMs to have a more consistent role in the game they still need to nerf the crap out of ECM stealth and then nerf indirect LRMs (and probably buff direct LRMs).

Goddamn it, with all these LRM Maulers around, how the hell am I supposed to stand in the water beside the citadel on River City, trading fire with the Dakkawhale around the corner. Seriousface, these Lurms are SOOooooo Broken. I mean, just because I'd usually use cover anyways to avoid getting shot by Dual Gauss or Laser Vomit, or Dual Gauss AND Laser Vomit! But now I have to actually use Cover to hide from the MISSILES OF DEATH WRATH OF GOD BLOT OUT THE SUN LURMS, instead of using cover to hide from near instantaneous Pinpoint Alpha Damage.

What is the world coming to, when hiding behind a rock is the best way to prevent myself from getting shot.

Seems like a slow Beastie, at only 44.1kph. And you've sacrificed a bit of armor too. That said, I guess you'd probably Maul anything in the 200-400m range bracket.

I figured out why people seem to prefer instadeath over the slow lingering death caused by lurms. Even when getting killed they are impatient.

What would you rather be hit by? A 60 point alpha with no warning or 60 point lrm blob that takes 3 seconds to get there Nd you know it is coming?

Maybe we should just remove bettys missile warning. Then you wont know to wait.

I am pleased that some people are using LRMs on their Maulers instead of just running 4xUAC5 or 5xAC5 or laservomit+gauss. However, my delicate sensibilities are disturbed by people who only put LRMs on their Mauler, and so they must be punished.

Tze Kung asked whether Sze, or shang was the more learned and virtuous. Confucius replied, Sze goes too far and Shang goes not far enough. "Then Sze excels?" Confucius replied "To go too far is as bad as not to go far enough."

I encourage you to meditate on this as I destroy your Mauler LRM boats.

In this time of lrm chaos... I will be bringing an easy button ecm clan mech with lurms of its own to return the favor. Or my orions or 55 ton lrmishers. With raderp to test the mettle of these lrm pilots and see who is quality out there.

Stay lurmy my friends.
