Could some please educate me on what Mechs are found where ?
Maybe for the point of this post what number of mech/types would I find in a regiment for each of the house
(generally)

I have looked the mech pages but find myself get to wrap up in the fluff

Cheers Hairlok

If you look on top, before the mech names, in the area called catagories you will see mechs by weight class and then those by clan/great house. check that out. it only shows the most 'iconic' i suppose but it should give you an idea

As far as actually manufacturing the Mechs themselves, I would highly reccomend the Pryde Rock Industries website and click on "BT Industries" and then select a House to see what Mech/Weapons/Engines and such are located in their manufacturing facilities.
http://www.pryderockindustries.com/
As to 'where they are found' in the IS during this post Succession War period of the game is a free for all. After several hundred years of war, most manufacturing is at a very limited capacity which is exactly why salvage was so important if you intended to again field that Mech with the 20 point hole in his chest armor from the last outing. You can get a Mech built in one House in most other House's because of all the salvage, swapping, capture etc. going on. If thats what you mean?
Most House's modeled their TO&E around the old Star League structure, but all vary to some degree from one another. Basically talking Mechs, would be 4 to a Lance, 4 Lance/Company, 4 Company/Battalion, 4 Battalion/Regiment. So a Regiment would be big like 256 Mechs. You can also form regiments for specific missions or attachement to other House ops. etc. Comstar for example likes 12 Regiments per combat sector w/ 2 of these being Mechs, the other 10 being support, Aero, Infantry, armor & Command etc.
I hope you find some answer to your Q in there somewhere. ^_^

ok you got it close but not quite right where the IS order of battle is concerned. An "average" mech Company consists of 3 Lances. An "average" Battalion consists of 3 Companies, however a Squared Battalion consists of 4 Mech Companies. An "average" Regiment consists of 5 Battalions. All of these have attached support elements as well such as Armor, Aerospace/Aircraft, artillery, and infantry.

I know man, but he said he read Sarna and got lost in fluff, just gave a nice clean even multiplyer to work with as listing for ea House would be a Wall-o-Text. Even most 3* are filled out w/ Comand, Recon or some other support when moving on Regiment scale. Might as well tell him a Lance is 3 too. Unlike Successor States 4 unit and Clan 5 unit groupings, the Com Guards base their forces on multiples of six.
Don't get lost in it again Hairlok, grab a number within this 3-6 unit per and run with your task.
I did not get the impression he was working on a Regiment size campaign, but rather thinking Lance or something while calling it a Regiment above.
I apoligize if not responding with the correct info requested, but don't get hung up on "Averages".

Select your faction. This covers pretty much all timelines but you can resort it by TRO or era and get the early models to the top..

What i meant by average is that there are probably minor variances between the Great Houses and mercenary units etc, but that those are the most common numbers is all.

Oh btw, i like the name Rogal Dorn, by that i assume your mechs are all going to be painted yellow, are going to site behind big walls and get lost at the most inopportune times? Maybe lose Terra to the clans while your at it?

Woah now, we didn't lose Terra, just let them get to it. And yes, we will have yellow mechs that like to play pillow fort.

Well of course, what would the universe be like without a drug addicted, nymphomaniac, hermaphrodite, evil god of chaos running a muck and doing all sorts of things? :)
