First of all, sorry for my english, is obviously not my first languange.
And yes, given the usual preferences of most players to customize their own mech as they choose, this can be taken as a crazy idea. Most people play MWO just to get "their hands" on their desired mech, to make and test interesting builds.
But well, if you want the population of CW to increase and leave its current crisis, this may be a way.
What do you want people? Lesser waiting times to play or to pilot your desired mech specifically as you want? Given the current CW situation, we can´t have both ! Or yes, we can have both and continue with the same troubles !
Also, unless you are in a great unit or have the uncommon good chance to play with coordinated and skilled pugs, you know playing Community Warfare matches is commonly unfair...So, unfortunately, playing fair matches in CW is for now not a priority, the main thing is to draw more people to it.
I would not mind leaving my customized mechs in trade for quicker game matches in CW. As it has been said here, skill is really important when playing this game. If this works (among other ideas that could be implemented to renew CW) maybe, in the future, and after CW builds a robust and stable population of players, we can go back to what we have now.
This "crazy" idea to play CW only with stock mechs just shows that the solution to make more players, new ones, veterans or experts play what could have been the best side in MWO is far from being achieved. I think the idea is not that crazy, but somehow desperate, since now I see CW in danger of completely disappearing. Just watch how certain events drain completely its population...
The idea might work, and some others around too, but a good, new or reformed system that draws more players to participate in a diminishing part of MWO is deeply urgent.
In comparison to regular games, the few people that keep playing CW know they would not get the same experience, complexity or group stability from regular matches.
I really hope CW gets to be rescued somehow soon, as for me and others is still the most appealing part of the game. Maybe the more time an eficient solution to fix it is posponed, the more we wil all see fade away until its extinction. Hope to be wrong on that.
