For the most part people are liking their Maulers. I was just curious to see how people who were going up against them feel.

OP? Too many guns? UP/no big deal?

Anyone crying for nerfs?

Seams like another crab. I think it's balanced well. Its a good scale. I think I might pickthem up when it hits cbills.

No cries here. Careful if you are poking though out from behind a hill, those torso's are very pronounced and easy to hit. I will say its tougher than a Banshee, the Banshee normally has that one Torso with all the weapons in it (3 ac 5's), but the Mauler is a quite bit more balanced.

Big, easy to hit target. Just don't let it fire back. Less fear than crabs or Direwolves, but respectable danger.

They look fun....and are easy to shoot. (big targets)

Lots of people have been running XL's and i have dropped a few Maulers with a single alpha last night. Even took one down in my UM-R63(s)! :P Was not in a single alpha mind you!

I dont think they are going to be taking the spot of the STK or anything yet...we will see what happens once people get them mastered and find their builds they prefer.

Decent size. Good hitboxes. Somewhat good hardpoint placement.

Only thing that's annoying is that there's like 5 of them per team, and it seems my team always gets the ones who do sub 100 damage.

They look cool but nothing I change my gameplay around yet. Been leveling my HGNs and haven't had too many issues with Maulers. Can't wait for the c-bill release.

If built well, don't want to be seem by one.
If they're just a LRM boat or have MGs, won't mind facing them.

- Don't stare at it. The pinpoint alpha is ridiculous.

- Hit the wide side torso and see it die.

- Still highly attractive because of the wide build-variety

Doesn't have time to see if they carry XL or Std, so I just shoot their CT all the time. Seems more fragile than Executioner but more durable than the Battlemaster.

Only looked at smurfy, see some nice builds that were impossible before.

6 ac5, it's crazy.

Scary if you're in front of them..

not so scary otherwise. Pretty much how I figured a Mauler should be. Overall I'd say they are pretty well done mech.

Its an Awesome with Ballistics.

It die real easy. Cant do much damage. People are running around with them like chickens with their heads cut off.

Maybe itll be better when the grognards go back to their Vindicators, and theres some mastered Maulers running around in good hands.

It makes being a Whale, Crab, or Wubshee SUPER easy. Since youre probably the only assault mech in the match that ISNT a Mauler, and the Mauler is terrible by comparison.

yes thats really true.

Banshee is overall better than the Mauler.
That Thing dies just to quickly and its really not a fearsome Enemy. More of a free kill.

Easy target. Might have something to do with most being only with basic skills right now, but not all that scary, it's not on level with a direwolf or king crab in terms of firepower either. Then again, most builds I saw were pretty weak.

Most don't seem to be piloted by actual assault pilots, so I can't judge the mech yet.

They all seem easy to kill, but that's mostly because they all stare at everything and run DPS builds with too much face time. Not sure how much armor the pilots are front-loading either.

It's kind of reminding me of all the bad Dires out when those released for CBills...the mech may be good, but pilot performance isn't reflecting it.

The only Maulers I recall fighting have been light autocannon dakkaboats. They were less than ultra impressive, even with me trolling around in my Shadow Cats, but then again I was in my Shadow Cats. it'd be really, really sad if I couldn't outmaneuver a 70-degree arc fatbro with a Shadow Cat.

The chassis looks solid enough, but I haven't been playing a huge whacking buttload of MWO lately to face down tons of Maulers, and those I have faced seem to be all right but not exceptional. I'm certain they'll change my mind eventually, but I still tend to be more leery of Krabs, Whales, or Manshees than Maulers. At least for the moment.

Heh, kinda what I expected, really. Always glad to see new stuff in the game, I know full well that the Mauler is a lot of people's favorite and it's awesome they get to run it...but it's hard to really compete with the OG Dakka King (Crab).

Its even got some problems compared to a Boomjager.

Id imagine even with the XL and crappy armor, a Jager with dual gauss or dual ac20 gives a Mauler a run for its money, given that the speed means the Jager can dictate the fight. Get behind one and youll surely get two salvos before they turn around and thats probably enough.

Form the outside they seem ok.
Good firepower, ok-ish hitboxes (they seem to not roll damage too well, but it might be they are not double-basiced yet).
All in all, a solid mech, but it won't take the crown of "best assault".
