Even more funny, is the Marauder uses the meta build of PPC+AC5.

That is funny? What about the Direwolf meta build of 6 UAC 5 being the same as Alice Newkirks direwolf with 6 UAC 5's (however it was 3 per torso).

Or how Alex Height uses 6 UAC 2 on his mauler... even though in MW: O we got no UAC 2 for IS, 6 AC 2 is popular.

Or how the stormcrow Prime already matches meta.

What marauder variants are available in 3052?

The 3R, 3L, and 3M are Succession War/3025 era mechs (all would have identical hardpoints without inflation). The 3D is also from this era, but is a pure energy loadout.

The Bounty Hunter has 2 different custom versions dated 3015 and 3044.

The 5D is 3047, the 5M and 5S are 3051.

By the way, also notice that the Marauder has plenty of variants that carry ECM and/or other EW/utility equipment... Of which just one can be built with the weapons and equipment currently in the game: the MAD-9M. Carries ECM in center torso too.

Its also one of the few Marauders without a torso ballistic/energy weapon and instead has twin SSRM6s. And silly quad-ERLLs.

edit: nevermind, we dont have Streak-6s yet. Damnit.

The 9M is also way out of timeline, 3068. Even if/when PGI jumps the timeline forward, I doubt they're going to leap ahead 16 years.

I never felt the original version fit the look of Battletech...too alien (which for obvious reasons, it was). Probably why I liked the Reseen version better, TBH. But, on this one, the RT Cannon looks off....but the arms look to tight, stiff and small, while it needs bigger hoof feet, IMO. The Torso and Legs, overall, work well for me, but the Arms (forearm weapon paddles especially) the feet and the cannon...just throw off the whole design, IMO.

Yeah, Marauder looks better with huge feet. I kinda liked the Marauder IIC model from the Mektek mod. It was a HUGE mech. Looked atleast beefy.

And this one I think looks good

https://www.google.c...Lnk6QEm4vqnM%3A

Again, I think its the mektek one. The MWO marauder, thing I think looks goofy is the arm mounts, under the chin. And on 2nd look the feet do look a little small.

BUt this one lol

Just a monster.

Well, the Marauder was one fo the most high tech and progressive IS designs the Star League turned out before the Exodus. It IS the ancestor and direct progenitor of the Timberwolf, so that actually makes sense, since it's one of the rare mechs around still in ht eIS that was designed and engineered during the pinnacle of humanity.

that said...it doesn't fully work for me-either,

Whether it was high tech in lore or not, it doesn't really fit with any of the other artwork.

It almost looks like something that you'd see in a different franchise. The doglegged contour of the forearms and sloping on the cockpit and upper torso remind me of like.. Avatar or Halo or Homeworld or something.

If it were more angular and rugged looking, I'd probably like it a lot more.

The Marauder feels like it's gonna have Cataphract-itis.

Low slung energy arms and a high ballistic side torso? Take away 5 tons and it's a Cataphract-0X.

Except the Cataphract doesn't have a High ballistic side-torso (Even though they really could've easily given it, but god forbid an IS ECM heavy be any good!)

Ideally, this needs to be part of a new wave of Phoenix Packs:

Phoenix Pack 2: Wasp, Phoenix Hawk, Marauder, and Marauder II
Phoenix Pack 3: Valkyrie, Chameleon, Warhammer, and Longbow
Phoenix Pack 4: Stinger, Rifleman, Archer, and Behemoth
Bonus Phoenix Pack: Ostscout, Ostol, Ostroc, Ostwar

Has nobody said it?
Ok I'm saying it now.
That torso gun barrel is going to end up a quarter of the size of the concept art.

What I want to know is how they will nail that long cannon barrel which gives the marauder its classic silhouette on the in-game model. They have normalized the size of ac's and other weapons, so they'd have to get really creative to get that to work.

Really sexy redesign though... Let the money throwing begin!

I'm seeing an interesting split.
Some people want classic, gangly marauder.
Other's want the current design beefed up and looking beefier.

Interesting, what we have is a kinda middle ground. No one's ever going to be 100% pleased [except me apparently because I LOVE these given designs]. This is best of both worlds, some slender, rounded areas, other beefy areas, ect ect.

It looks great, and while it's basic loadout isn't amazing. For those of us who run 3025 era mechs, the idea of seeing the Marauder, Warahmmer, Archer, Phoenix Hawk, Osts, Valkyrie, Longbow, Rifleman... Oh man... just imagine a company that's pure Unseens... how AWESOME that will look!

Now about my Warhammer.

(even though in MWO it will be a terrible knuckledragger with bad hitboxes)
