I'm guessing HG got wind and threw a spanner in the works...

Oh, I'm certain they got wind. Battletech/MW has fans that after all these years absolutely WOULD rub it in their faces. While I haven't been above a small, joyous, "F*** YOU!", I have at least had enough sense to not directly poke them. Others? Let's be honest, this community is not known for its restraint.

The question becomes if they've done anything. They haven't risen up against CGL for their recent art, and I have my doubts they will against PGI (though I wager the BT/MW fan community severely tempts them).

A dream comes true!
The Marauder is for me the most iconic mech and my absolute number 1.

The redisign is great and I hope we´ll see the Marauder II and IIC.
Thanks PGI!
Bought and waiting for December 01.

Gotta love the Canadian dollar exchange rate...

Closer to $100 for the full package.

Aside for a couple years during the Recession, it's been that way most of our lives. Nothing new.

I think PGI needs to offer the Marauder IIC while its the coals are red hot, hopefully soon or next aftet the IS Marauder, and instead of months down the line when the design loses its novelty.

Um...novelty? We're talking about the Marauder. Novelty ain't the issue.

Doing it before they potentially piss off half the remaining customer base over the rebalance, now that is the trick, lol.

I always thought it was funny how the Marauder is a Heavy and the Marauder IIC was an Assault. You would have thought they would have kept it the same class.

Kind of reminds me of that whole Madcat/Madcat MKII nonsense.

Either way, I think a Marauder IIC would or is going to be a monster.

I don't like playing heavy mechs much, the most played heavies for me are my Thunderbolts and Orions (not so much any more).

The only reason I got the $40 package and the extra one was because of the Grey Death Legion books. just started the 4th one last night so when I saw this I couldn't help myself.

Now about the Phoenix Hawk.....

There are some things that should just be left in their original forms.

The Marauder is one of them.

Adding a IIC variant of any 'Mech inevitably overshadows the original. It dulls the novelty.

The Phoenix Hawk IIC is hands-down my favorite mech ever. (And given the variants that have been published, it had better allow 8 jump jets.)

An assault mech with the jump range of a light is a beautiful, beautiful thing.

Well the Maruader is a heavy and the IIC will be an assault and unlike TT I am guessing, isnt a straight upgrade. The Original Marauder will be faster and more agile while still packing a serious punch. Thats of course if the two techs can finally be balanced.

It would actually have the same agility (Battlemasters are pretty damn agile, now add in C-XL) but with superior protection and superior firepower. It's not even a question of tech-sets; even with IS gear an 85 ton MAD would be superior. I can put some really nasty things onto a quick, cool Battlemaster without resorting to XL or running as a squishy.

I beg to differ using the Marauders superior speed and agility and smaller profile I will make quick work of the slower, larger target, that is the inferior Marauder IIC doppleganger.

I've circled strafed an Atlas with a 400XL Battlemaster. It's possible, but I think it really depends more on the pilots than the mechs.
