People got used to quirks, it's like when an op weapon get nerfed and the people using it complain, except with quirks, everyone used it so it's damn hard to be objective. I do hope they rebuild it from t he ground up without having to quirk weapons.

Agreed. Though if the answer is to quirk armor/structure, I'm not sure that's really the answer.

Some quirks are okay. If look at say, the Grasshoppers, do any of them have ridiculous weapon quirks that have such a profound impact on gameplay?

Now the Server has to come back on so we can test whatever they need to be tested.

You and your Hopper.
Like I can talk. I'm going to run Marauder, 2xWarhammer and some light (don't care which) in CW regardless of how well they play and I'm going to do it until I can regularly do 1500+ in them, because Maddy and Whammy.

I don't knoiw what the answer is but i think we should first start with tweaking the weapons instead of the mech. I don;t realy like pretend armor either though it has given life to mech that didnt have any. I hope we could go away from it too. it helps im not hell bent on using tt or lore values for the sake of.. well... killing the game i guess.

Yeah is quirks can give "flavor" like smaller generalised boost instead of specific boost to a certain weapon then it's cool.

WHAT I DONT LIKE IS THE NEGATIVE QUIRKS THEY GAVE MEDIOCRE VARIANTS OF IS MECHS NERFING THEM.
THEIR ALGORITHM CANNOT BE RIGHT if this is what it came up with
its obvious it's not taking every variable into account because there are some really illogical choices taken this way

I hope Vass is here, he'd offer some insightful diagnosis on the current situation of balance.

As far as testing the communications update, most of us wouldn't have had a problem with that but we were all led to believe this was supposed to be the first iteration of the full balance patch until after they pulled the PTS offline.

If quirks of any kind are heading up above the 20% amount, then its heading a little to far...5-10% here and there should be enough, if the balance is done properly. Nothing is so UP that it needs 20-30-50-60% anything.
Except maybe the DHS, they need ....30% more heat dissipation?

Yeah, like the 5H has 10% energy cooldown +10% medium laser cooldown, and -12.5% heat generation, plus some agility and structure. IMO, drop the + 10% ML cooldown, and leave the weapon quirks as is, doing the rest of balance with agility and durability and sensors.

Hopper doesn't really have any 30% quirks so...

They've said no quirks are final. Or even proposed. This past test was sensors only.
Though as its been mentioned, their communication could use some vast improvement.

Well I just feel that it is a solid all around mech, not a glass cannon with Dire Wolf DPS, but its definitely workable as is, and doesn't have any ridiculous quirks.

Well its not necessarily the overall end result that people have the problem with. Its more of a general unbalanced feel to have the Grid Iron or the Dragon-1N or a couple others putting out such a magically unnatural amount of DPS. I think people would rather those mechs be brought to viability through a less arbitrary and intrusive means.

I just mean after this rebalance...they are basically doing a from ground 0 redo of all the quirks and game balance as a whole.
