Everybody knows that with clans invasion is assault class disappeared except crabs and of course the newest mauler... People prefer maneurable and faster mechs with smaller hitboxes, because assault mechs, especially victor, highlander and awesome have a huge proportions but less armor with extremely big hitboxes. Especially in comparison with new zeus.and they were even nerfed. Assaults have to be assaults, not the medium mechs on steroids, as they are. With jj nerf it got even worse. Those mechs are really rare on battlefield and this is really bad. I'd like you to re-estimate the armor on these legendary forgot mechs according to their dimentions. Or maybe make heat generation different for every class. I don't propose to reassess jj1st class because than you'll have to rebalance other mechs. Something has to be done with that, because those mechs are mostly shame, especially awesome.

Highlanders are still pretty good with Gauss+3LPL/LL (STD300 for durability or XL325 for JJs and speed).

BTW, metamechs lists that config as Tier 2 on their "meta tier list".

732 is also there but he put it on the "low" - must be because of the quirks. Personally, I prefer the 732 to carry that loadout because of its gauss cd and speed quirks but those are subject for change.

Looking at the posted quirks, it seems that HGNs got agility buffs but they (except the 732B) lost their 5% speed (mobility) bonus. It will not change much I guess, these loadouts should function pretty much the same:
  • Gauss+3LPL/LL ("meta")
  • 2UAC/5+2PPC
  • AC/10+2ML+4SRM6(A) for the 733
I read that we could get JJ quirks now but I'm not seeing any. HGNs should get this quirks.

On live servers, I still do well in my HGN's with builds not like the listed ones. I've got the HM (2xac/5, 3xML, 2xSRM6), 733C (ac/20,ml,srm's) and 733P (Lpulse/srm) All of them I've got 300's and JJ loaded into them (cant remember If i've got XL engines in any of them or not. Looking at the changes, so far, and taking into account that more stuff will be added back in, I'm hoping this chassis gets use again. My new maulers are great mech's but I really like the highlanders. Ninety tons of fun with jump jets (full load of them except 4/5 on the HM) to get around places my other IS assaults can't get to.

Highlanders and Atlas' seemed to get some pretty fun buffs.

Highlanders had some pretty cool agility buffs, while Atlas' had some good Defensive buffs.

All in all, I think once people actually bothered to look at most of the actual chassis, there was defiantly some good stuff going for them. Its a shame that they didn't really get put to the test in favor of people just complaining about weapon quirks rather then testing what was there.
