That's a broken application of PGI's bandaid. The Bounty Hunter is itself not a "stock" Mech. It's a particular pilot's custom Mech.
As such, it should have the same limits as its stock variant - the MAD-3R.
I'd be happy with a 325 cap. I might accept a 300 cap. A 275 cap means no sale. That's slower than a 10 ton heavier Warhawk.

It's a heavy though, so i don't know if i want it anyway.

I didn't make the rule. But lets behonest, there have been lighter heavies running at these speeds for a while.

usually dual gauss, except back in the day when multi PPC designs were viable meta
this fits neither critieria

That was a bandaid that they put in place a looong time ago to control 100+ kph laser Hunchbacks.
and papercut AWS

They also break the rule often, basically whenever they feel like it.
This is one of those times when they should break the rule. It should at least be able to carry the chassis' normal stock engine (300). It needs a 325 cap before I'll auto-buy it. A 300 cap would be hard to live with for me... 275 is an absolute no sale.

and dual ac/20, and any number of other variations trying to get maximum ammo, pure firepower, or cooling. The only differrence here is everyone knows it's gonna be fairly slow out of the gate.

I get it that all mechs can't be equally fast, even if they are the same weight, but the other Marauders can have the 360 engine, and they can jump too... it's really not much difference except slightly different hardpoints.

+1. I was about to post the very same thing.
Also, this mech NEEDS a pimp cane.
Needs more dollar signs though.
More like MAKE IT RAAAAAAAAAIN!
Less like make it rain
is that Paul looking at the money the MAD is making vs what it COULD be making with a better engine cap?

I dropped with him tonight in Mining Collective. Man can pilot a Dire Wolf. We had the misfortune of losing that match. Our team was jumped (kinda flanked) from the high platform.
Anyway, to get back on target, it sounds like Russ is at least considering raising the engine cap. I think the poster's 350 or 360 is obviously too high, but 300 would probably be decent...maybe 315.

Jman is gonna be tough in pretty much any mech, cuz he's just a good Jock. But he's one of the few who can compete at Comp Tier with LRMs, and that is saying something. I make them work in my tier OK, but I don't pretend to be Comp.

also; Trollface and "uMAD?" would be appropriate for the Bounty Hunter
