Marauder themed drop decks people. We need to work this meta out now.

Thats what im sayin' about my mauler. Im running it basically stock, outside of more armor, swapped Ferro for Endo and put on some more AC2 ammo and DHS. Changed the LRM15s to 10s and yeah...

I got the same but still got LRM 15's on the ®. swapped the LRM 10's to SRM 6's on the 1P, and the 2P has 2 extra med lasers.

Timberwolf won't make it into CW, it has pretty low slung arms. King Crab will be useless too, it's claws scrape the ground. I suppose Dragons and Wolverines are pretty terrible as well.
... it's not just about low arms, bro. Besides, Marauder can at least do a top-mounted gauss, and probably dual AC/5. Plus one of the variants puts energy in the top mount as well. =P

Plus the hero variant has an E hardpoint the same level as the ballistic on the other torso on 1 variation...
The other may possibly have 1 to 4E up high instead.
(bounty hunter is the hero one, it has 3 PPC's, 3 medium lasers (1 each ST, 1 CT I think it was CT...), and some other stuff, the upgraded version also in timeline has 1 med laser, 3 ER PPC's, and 1 gauss.

Well, go by many, the TBR is just so OP its not even funny...so, it gets in automatically. KGC, I havent played CW in awhile, but it was mostly STK due to thier hillhumpability. Then, TDRs and Gauss Jagers for high mounted firepower as well.
Mechs like the Marauder, I guess dont fit the meta image. Im not saying they are bad, Marauder, KGC, all of em are fine...just pokin fun at the meta crowd who rank mechs, on what seems to be the basis of: Alot of E? check, High hardpoints? check. Can it pack in alot of Gauss? Check. If all 3 of these elements check out, its in.

Top gauss only if you want to run a standard engine with it which will influence build choice.

The things I'm thinking about for the MAD:
* Heat
* Low slung energy hardpoints
* Limited hardpoint numbers could dictate a bias towards heavy weapon loadouts exclusively
Still thinking. Might come up with more.

Maybe some people like IS mechs better?
I mean, there are many sport automatic transmissions that shift faster than a regular person can shift on a manual, but some people still prefer to drive their stick shifts for whatever reason...even if they're slower. I guess it's not always about the meta.

Sometimes there are ways to make those work better than the supposed "better" option.
For example, using a car with Triple clutch, allows me to shift manually at near automatic speeds.
Think of quirks, as me using a triple clutch car.

The 3D will have (almost certainly high-mounted) energy torso hardpoints replacing that above-cockpit AC point. I'm calling 3D hill-humper right now.
The 5D comes with an XL, a ton of energy hardpoints both arm and torso (high mounted) and jump jets.
How about this treat?
The 4X, which is 3039, had endo steel,DHS and *binary lasers*. That's right. BLC, baby.
The 5M had JJs, possibly two high torso mounts (it moved to a bigger AC and removed some other hardpoints) and an XL standard but was absolutely in timeline.
So many good Marauder options. 75 ton IS mech with JJs and a complex ballistic and energy loadout mix. I'm happy with it.

We should have gotten the Binary with the Zeus, so I'm not really expecting it to be there any time soon. It's a good way to stuff two LLs into one energy hardpoint though.

Depends on which ones you speak of.
I recently broke out the ol' brawly Hunch-4SP, did better than I used to with nothin' but 5MLs and 2ASRM4s.
