Event - Cancelling Matchmaker Equals Disconnect

Just a heads up that cancelling matchmaker (after waiting foooooooorever) is counting against event disconnect penalties.

So... not caring about this event anymore if dcing after death screws you over for it too

I haven't been charged for any of my DC's after death so far. I would like to see a PGI response about DC's being charged for cancelling the MM as that seems like a pretty big oversight.

Three disconnect hits appearing out of nowhere... don't know if it's because you disconnect after being killed or when cancelling matchmaker. Something's not working properly.

EDIT: Could be if you disconnect before you press spectate too when you have died. Not willing to test it though since I don't need any more disconnect hits.

To be fair there are quite a few very underperforming players that would really benefit from spectating instead of forum raging about how its not fair they get matched up against slightly better players.

Well that explains a lot. I frequently kill the matchmaker after waiting two minutes or more in fear of getting shafted with pug hell. I think I'm just being superstitious as I was shafted six drops in a row and a couple of those were insta-drops.

Teammate: "Rock ahead!"
Scared Teammate 1: "Right!"
Scared Teammate 2: "No! ahead!"
Scared Teammate 3: "No no no! They'll know we are there!"
Scared Teammate 4: "Contact! Other side of rock!"
Teammate: "Kill them!"
Scared Teammate 1: "OH NO! Run! Quick! Away from the rock! To the back! To the back! Let's flank them LONG and WIDE!"
Scared Teammate 2: "To the edge of the map! Hurry!"
*rabble rabble rabble*
Scared Teammate 4: "The tale of Brave Sir Robin, run away, run away, run away!"

I'm not seeing it. I canceled the matchmaker multiple times last evening and did not record any disconnect.
A couple times I hit cancel immediately after Play because I forgot to check Modules. However a couple of times it was because I was tired of waiting on the MM.

Something is triggering it that wasn't stipulated in their rules. For I have not disconnected a match yet, and yet I have 1 on the tournament stat page.

I do hit the cancel button if matchmaker is trolling (2+ minutes).

Same. I got 2 DC i dont know from where. PGI needs to look into this.

Just disable the DC counter for this event until its fixed.

Looks like they are doing some maintenance behind the scenes... My disconnect tally is lower than it was earlier.

Same, must have been hitting cancel could cause the issue. It is the only random thing I had done, now its back to zero.

Crisis averted, I may try to complete the mission.

Hey, to be fair, I was stuck on that rock...(seriously, half a team got stuck behind me in a stream on FoCo, including Blast, who then proceeded to JJ onto my head and over...)..but hey, we won!

That's possible. I'll experiment with that. I got dinged last night for a disco by bailing after I died but before spectating.
