With the current game limitation regarding recording actual engine crits, I purpose the following based on good suggestions in this thread.
Clan XL: heat and movement penalty for loss of 1 side torso. Loss of both equals death.
IS: same heat and speed loss as clan, same death. Halve the engine range available compared to standard engine.
IS standard engine: same as current, but adds 20% structure to CT.
"Clan" standard engine: equal to IS standard engine, but with half the engine range available.
This is intended to buff IS engines, slightly nerf clan XL while letting clan payers get some ability to customize engine ratings at the cost of running a standard engine. The standard engine gets slightly buffed.
Note: this does not make up for Clan advantages on weaponry and other equipment. This should be discussed separately.
