This is a brilliant idea and I hope they implement it, especially considering some people haven't gotten the one last map that they need. But I don't think they'll make this kind of a radical change mid-tournament. :/

I admit, on maps I don't need, I'm kamikaze-running headlong into the enemy...and sometimes I'm actually scoring high...I just don't have time to waste playing on maps I've already qualified on. :/

well maps are 9 and 6 , so 9x400/300 and 6x 400/300, ie 3600/2700 and 2400/1800 for T2/T1.

Been playing PUG all weekend and still dont have 400 score on each map because those maps simple don't come.
The OPs idea would solve this problem, right now its a really really frustrating event!

What they really needed to do was fix map roattion. I have been in river city and forest colony at least five times as much as any other map, and I have been in mining collective like 4 times. Other people have issues with other maps.

I think they need to extend the event for a couple of days more and apply this. Everyone prety pissed right now. I need 1 map but have not played it not even once. Its just annoying.

+1. If they changed to this then I'd get my tier 2 prize right now instead of grinding and hoping for a 400 score match on canyon network...Either this or they should just give you whatever your last map is so you don't have to search fruitlessly for eternity...

It's an event that "celebrates" superiority on certain maps where others are superior on others, which is why they made it so you have to score above average on 9 of their 12 maps.

Oh, we know...and we hate it, because the map rotator won't allow some people to actually BE superior on certain maps...because it's not giving them certain maps!

Sounds good, I support this suggestion. The total scores could even be slightly higher (just 300-500 points or so) to compensate for the reduced difficulty.

pgi doesnt seem to stick around the office for weekend events. if they dont fix issues by closing on friday, they persist all weekend until they get back. then they roll out fixes either when people have given up or lost interest.

i can see this one getting an extension perhaps. but i dont really see that as a fix, mechwarrior will be 'broke' all week and i dont like that.

preferred fixes would be lowering of the bar, using score totals rather than thresholds, or even throwing some heuristics into the map selection algorithm. but if anything like that is rolled out, it will be to late to matter.

I wish I had not contributed to PigGI's numbers for this weekend; I give up. In CW, I keep getting Grim Portico and Sulferous Rift, over and over. In Pub matches, I keep getting Mining Conglomerate, Canyon Network, and Forest Colony, over and over. If they cannot be arsed to put any thought into it, I cannot be arsed to help their demographics.

That is, after all, the only reason they do these things.
