I always shoot UAV's down from over the brawlers. I'm often the only one that pays attention to these things. Situation awareness is awful among most players in MWO i've found.

I can understand some people not shooting UAVs, there are mechs with cockpits that can't see upwards very well, some mechs with no arm mounted weapons, and some with missile-only loadouts. Been in all three of those situations and had to call out UAVs instead of just shooting them.

But when you're in something with good visbility upwards and at least one laser or PPC in an arm, there's just no excuse. Being detected by a UAV is a liability for your whole team, they need to be priority targets.

Maybe I'm a snowflake, but I love shooting down UAV, I have to maintain trigger control to not to shoot down my own teams. Every one of those is like burning 40,000 C-Bills.

I may or may not shoot down UAVs if I can. I recall many occasion where I just leave it over those players...

Nope, nope nope.

Its getting damn near ANYONE with half a brain to actually look up once in a while, just in case there is one.

And, you know that the one time you don't bring arm mounted weapons, you'll see one, mention it to the team, and no one will even look for it to shoot it down.

You obviously don't have me there. I am an instrument of UAV destruction. If UAV's were sentient, they'd run news stories about the giant yellow and grey Awesome serial killer decimating them.

Bonus points if you shoot them down a milisecond after they reach the top of their arc.

I shoot down them often.... but its hard with a joystick. I really, really wish PGI would enable Advanced Zoom to be capable of looking up. It has such a very limited pitch angle (torso).

I feel like 1/6 Solo Queue PUGs actually is aware that UAV is a game mechanic and isn't just some blessing from the dorito gods when the other team lights up.

BAP/CAP lets you lock onto the UAV enabling it to be shot down easier. On some maps that annoying things are just so hard to see, locking on helps a ton.

You're not the only one OP. Since I'm usually not on point I shoot down oodles of UAVs when I see them.

Yeah, I shoot them as soon as I see them (or light them up if I've got BAP). Even if it's out of range, just shooting lasers at it usually gets other teammates to shoot it down. People may not be looking for UAVs, but they're usually curious to see what you're shooting at.
