I'll admit he took it a bit far, but everyone rages/gets salty sometimes.

Totally not an excuse. "I'll admit he took it a bit far, but everyone gets racist/sexist/homophobic sometimes".

I get that the event is painstaking, but this kind of attitude is selfish and an embarrassment.
No one needs this kind of harassment. Needless to say, he's reported, but for those of you who are still struggling with the event, I just kindly ask you to refrain from reaching this point.
Just simply press ESC and leave. Saying stuff like this might not affect you, or maybe it will and help you feel better, but it hurts the people who play for fun, and if they were a new person, well, I wouldn't blame them for not wanting to stick around...
Due to the language, I put it in a spoiler tag. So be warned.
It's just not cool.
I've floated this on the forum before, but this is proof that those "ECM sniper" builds CAN be useful, and could even win in a match... especially on that map.
I WILL SAY, however, it is courtesy and good team tactics that if you're the only ECM... don't be a **** and run off. Help your team.

Oh yeah. Mic is the worst when you get someone with the balls to spew their angst through it.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I've been in games where the dead people are barking over the mic, basically ordering around the last person standing. Some examples include: "PRESS R!!!" "GO FOR HIS LEG!" "WOW HIS TORSO IS STRIPPED - WHY NOT SHOOT IT?!" "HOLY CHRIST!" "YOU F----ING SUCK, MATE!" that's just over the mic, meanwhile there's others in chat typing similar things - laughing, making fun, telling him he sucks, exasperating their disbelief at how there's people out there who aren't gifts of god, sent solely to excel at a video game.
After telling the back seat pilots to kindly shut up - I just receive a backlash of "DON'T -YOU- TELL ME TO SHUT UP! I'M TRYING TO HELP THE GUY. -YOU- SHOULD SHUT UP. F---ING COOT!" I've never heard someone use the word coot before in my entire life. I guess the plus side is that my vocabulary is increasing...
It never fails though. It seems like always the people who get ripe pissed off think they're doing some good by harassing someone who is trying to concentrate, let alone someone who's trying to have an ounce fun.

This is why I and literally every player I know IRL refuses to play the game on event weekends. Because the events pull these guys out of their caves and they (pgi) always reward the shittiest, most selfish, gameplay imaginable

Don't get me wrong, I get quite mad at times with the game. Mostly it is due to my own actions and impatience , but those times I feel necessary to be annoyed at my team, I keep it to myself and don't type or hit the mic key, if I do happen to be inspired enough to voice anything, I try and keep it pg-13. It's usually a 'not the worst game, good try.', or perhaps just a defeated sigh, haha.

It's actually your kind of placid reaction that only makes behavior like this acceptable.
"Well, everyone seems to just keep to themselves when it happens, so I guess it's fine. Ho hum, onward we go.".
That's like you standing around watching a kid getting bullied, he looks at you and you just shrug and say, "What can you do man? People are ganna be jerks." and you just walk away.
Or, rather, tell the bully, "You know, you're taking it a bit far... But I know everyone does it some time. So, whatever." and then walk away.
Reality Check. Harassment:
Expected - Yes
Accepted - Different story
Going back to myself getting angry; the swear words, gestures, and expressions (all of which are quiet seldom) stop before they even make it to another persons eyes/ears. You still have a brain when you're angry, so USE IT. No one needs to hear me open the mic or read in chat my vomit of vitriol about someone or something or myself. I've had a few things to say when I continually got 325, 392, 228, etc. on Viridian Bog, and out of 8 hours of playing I seen it 4 times...*cringe* But passing the blame, or singling out someone and tearing them a new one isn't going to make anyone go, "Oh sheet brew, he so maaaad. Maybe I better play better next time."
No. Those kinds of people just look like a giant tard when they can't restrain their harassment, and no one is going to care about what they have to say proceeding their poetic demonstration.
Like I said, I was nice to him at the start of the match, but after seeing his colourful pallet of insightful advice, I'm retracting all of it. Some people might be OK with ignoring the problem... but the line between ignoring and accepting is so thin you might as well say that you accept the problem.
Anyways. That's my late-night rant... Sorry for the length.
All I can ask is this:
Expect it, but don't accept it.
Bringing this kind of behavior to light will hopefully show people (who are in a right mind) understand what it looks like when they go over-board in chat. Hopefully they'll realize that this isn't what they want to be seen as, and will consciously make the decision to refrain from lashing out.

I still don't understand this kind of language. This is a team game, there is no one man army here. We all experienced extreme amounts of rage in this game when team members under-perform... especially in "well thought" PGI events.... but sh*t talking to other (probably silent or under performing) players is unacceptable. If you want to help, at least do it right.
sadly it not limited to a single tier or skill bracket.... I've seen very well known (even god-tier) players shower the team in a brown rain of words, as soon as their side is beginning to lose.

Yeah. Hopefully more people step up to the plate and report these things more often. But it's not necessarily easy to report someone... I'm sure there's a bunch of people who don't even know how...
An in-game report function would help a lot I'm sure (for both sides).

That animation is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Matches the audio very well, in a rudimentary way.
