Next time PGI, Please do this:

To ensure that maps are givin in a more predictible way, and increase the frequency of being able to drop on the map you need, they can stagger maps over the same timetable, and since there's a 50/50 chance to get the map, the schedule time is increased as well. Such as:

12:00 – River City, Tourmaline Desert
12:30 – Viridian Bog, Crimson Straight
13:00 – Forest Colony, HPG Manifold
13:30 – Mining Collective, Caustic Valley
14:00 – Frozen City, Canyon Network
(repeat)
14:30 – River City, Tourmaline Desert
15:00 – Viridian Bog, Crimson Straight
... etc.

With this time table, you could easily get your challenge done within a day or two. If someone didn't get the score the needed on the map, they aren't held back by RNG, and they can see ahead of time for when their next chance at the map will be.
If PGI is able to increase their client stability, they can then implement the disconnection disqualificaiton.

This could also be nice little sample to show people what it would like if people knew what map they are going to drop on, and how they used that information.

An alternative method is only switching a new map every 15 minutes (rather than 2 maps every 30 minutes)... That's average 2-3 chances to play that map, every 2 hours and 15 minutes.
12:00 - River City
12:15 - Forest Colony
12:30 - Caustic Valley
. . .
14:30 - River City
14:45 - Forest Colony
etc.

This single map mode might encourage meta builds that are specifically tailored to that map. Which is why the first idea could be a better alternative as you have a chance to play on very different maps.

Then don,t support them, just don't come out complaining about events afterwards.

Uhm, he has as much of a right to complain, as you do to speak yourself.

Lol no matter what people complain

Yup... I think most people don't get the fact that the whole reason for an event is to get people to play a lot of games.. Most events i have played if i got all the goodies was around 100 matches..

Play 100 matches because you are having fun, not for the reward.. because in all honesty, the rewards as far as money rewards go are tiny.. You'd be better working one extra hour at a real job,, or heck spend an afternoon picking up bottles and cans for 2 hours.. and buying a 7 or 15 dollar MC pack.

People need to rethink why they play.... the events are just a bonus.. Hey i had time, i played some matches and lookie i got a bonus.. YIPPY!

remember when you were a kid, and you had a test, and you studied really hard, and you ended up getting an A or B, that you thought you would fail.. and you tell your parents.. and they surprise you and take you out for an ice cream cone. You didn't do it for the ice cream, you did it cause you wanted a good grade.. the ice cream was a bonus..

thats what events are.. a tiny little prop for saying thanks for playing.. Some events if i have the time i do, others, i don't.. Some are easy, some are hard, some you just need 100's of matches, others you need a few.. I don't really understand what the big deal is here. Don't like the event, skip it.. there will be another one you might enjoy.

Personally i liked the Victor one, i also liked a couple of the other mech give away events.. the CW events not so much, and that's why i don't play um

150 and 300.

150 is sensible because it can be said as the new 30pt score.

300 is harder to achieve and is twice as high as 150 so it fits.

400 is way out, I have 400 match scores happen but getting them for each map was horrendous and I couldn't finish a few maps.

150 match score is a participation trophy.

A challenge is exactly what it sounds like, it's not meant to be easy.

Agreed- match score wasn't the problem. rng maps were and are. Never did see canyon. Not complaining, merely pointing a flaw as others have. This wasn't so much an exercise in skill, as an exercise in luck and time. It would be nice to see a map schedule of some type for this kind of thing, as multiple people have suggested.

200/300 is a better number given the randomness of the maps AND the level of rewards.

they could have added another 400 tier if you ask me.

good on PGI all things considered lowering the bar.

Oh thats nice, now the 10 hours i spent trying to get the right map raise my 350 score to 400 feels more like a waste. I admit that would have solved my problem, but...damn.

Yeah, that's what annoys me about it most i think, I could have been done in the 35 matches it took me to see all the maps once. (Which is honestly 26 too many with a 9 map limit, but whatever)

I know it's a bit counter-intuitive, but you'd be really lucky to get all 9 maps in a random draw with replenishing pool. The chance is 8/9 * 7/9 * 6/9 * 5/9 * 4/9 * 3/9 * 2/9 * 1/9 = less than 0.1%. Or did you mean they should have made it a fixed rotation?

Exactly. Completing them is to our own benefit, not theirs.

There was a time when I first started, there was literally 3 events in a full year, and that was it. Now we're seeing 2 a month sometimes. We should be grateful at the chance for free ****

There are completionists that want to see 100% on everything in their stat page... crazy really if you ask me...

Random map is random map crap! I got crimson straight once and got a 192 so I don't get the 1 prize ........ Trollin' people, T1 should be 150 match score and 300 for T2.

When did they change it to 200/300? I didn't play all weekend because of how nonsensical the limits were. i would have played. Thanks Obama.

I agree. The original score was fine imo and hit quite the sweet spot - challenging but not impossible. So far a good design. Now to the design problems. The RNG of the maps, however, was NOT a good idea. Simply because you 1. had to get the right map 2. hope that your team or the enemy doesn't suck or be too good (in both cases you would hardly get the 400) 3. hope that there were no DCers.

somehow no.

300 is not that hard to get unless you are unlucky with map rotation.
Events should not not simply offer a "participate and get everything for free" thing. They should involve a somehwat more challanging goal. getting 400 on all maps is not what every randombob will achieve.

Good move on PGI's part... yay I got Tier 2 now! But the RNG was definitely the problem, not the required match score.

Once when I was trying to hit 300 on Forest Colony, I headshotted an enemy 'mech that I was going to duel with... I presume that the duel between my relatively fresh gauss/laser Dire Wolf and his fresh Battlemaster would've easily boosted my score into 300 (since it was 268) if I hadn't one-shotted him. Frustrating!

Why not throw in a Tier 3 package for those who struggled to get 400 points? :D
