2N laser boat hasn't lived up to the hype thus far but mostly due to how easily it is to flank and how easy it is to disarm

Check your positioning and use of terrain. Stalker N scares Clanners. If you regularly get flanked in any Assault is usually pilot error, or late match and your team is losing.

MISERY
4ML, AC20 with 41 shots, ERLL in the CT, AMS (I always run AMS - you can dump it for more AC20 ammo, if you want)

41 shots? Not 42 (from 6t in 1t chunks)? Why would you split up your ammo that way? That last shot might count. :)

STK-3F
4LPLs, AMS

One of my CW rulers, the 3F has the best torso twist of the Stalkers. I set the LPLs up in three groups: left arm, right arm, and then all chained. Of course it runs a little hot, but think of it like an AC40 Jag that never runs out of ammo.

Running a similar build, I'll give this one a shot.

Lights love hugging my ass and my team mates are not always quick to provide assist. Last game this happened: was bringing up the rear, firing back at snipers and before you can say 'override shutdown' a Arctic Cheetah is behind me and cores my rear torso.

A Raven tried the same thing the game before but I had some honest to god cover fire to shake him off before any damage was done.

I love Stalkers, they are my favorite mech. I've tried just about everything but keep coming back to them. I play mine every single time I log in, even when working on other mechs...

My regular player is the 4N with the admittedly cheesy full 6LL loadout, complete with modules. It's just fun to play, and very consistent. You never want to get into a slugging match with anyone out in the open, and brawling is a bad idea. You find another assault on your team, someone that tends to draw fire, like a Dire Wolf or an Atlas, and play fire support. If they start taking hits, peek from either side of them as terrain allows, and help bring down whatever their target is. I don't always get tons of kills this way, but I get 1000+ damage a match many times, and break so many components the earnings are pretty decent.

I really enjoy the Misery, but as others have mentioned it's not a good idea to go tearing in to a firefight. I personally dislike the "40" build with the PCC's and Gauss, and prefer to put a LPL in the center torso, and back it up with an AC20 and 4MPL or an AC20 with 4ML and an SRM6. Engage at medium range, support your team,, and punish anyone dumb enough to get close. This is a mech that is wonderful in city fighting, tight spaces.

I originally leveled my 3F on PPC's, but obviously that doesn't work well these days. I now have it as the standard LRM boat with 4 LRM10A, backed up by 3 MLs, TAG, and BAP. Not as much fun to play, but since I joined up with a team it's been useful to support teammates with. Again, I follow another assault and provide them opportunities to finish off opponents that have been slapped multiple times by salvos of 40 missiles. The 4LPL and AMS build mentioned above is super fun though!

I did have the other Stalkers before (5M, 5S, 3H), but I sold them since I didn't play them as much...

Oh, and Standard 300 engines in all of them. I can't stand going any slower!

Have fun!

Part of that is just the nature of Pugging in an Assault. You gotta stay in the middle of the herd for cover. Sitting in the back with a sniper game is not ideal...but Warhawks have the speed to get out of it if you need.

Stalkers are powerful but you cant leave your *ss hanging out.

I got the stalker pack months ago and pretty quickly finished the first set of skills for the Misery running a ac/20 and large lasers and the 3F running 4LPLs but now I just have the 5M to finish.

And that's where the problem is, played two games today, in both I was too slow to really do anything in. Even with the STD300 I just couldn't get into range to take advantage of the srm quirks, thus first game was 49 dmg and the second I got a amazing 8.

I'm honestly just thinking of selling it and getting the 4N instead.

Reaver, definitely get the 4N. Don't sell the 5M though (if you haven't played it yet, the new tutorial gives an easy 5 million cbills!)

Instead, try this build:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...56bfb15a42e0f00

It's similar to the misery in that you always want to peek around a corner, alpha, then twist to protect your weapon side. You gain a decent punch in the 3x llas for hill humping and corner poking when not in srm range, though.

Because of how the ammo is pulled. It pulls from the torso first, then the arms, then the legs. Not sure when it pulls from the Head, but if you take a hit there that explodes the ammo, you're dead anyways.

This way, if an arm is blown off, it doesn't kill your whole mech. Really, it doesn't matter: you can dump the ammo wherever you're comfortable with it.

Would like to add another 3F build.

Std300, 6 med pulse, 4 ASRM6's. Can't remember how much ammo I run, I think 2 or 3 tons. As many (double) HS as will fit. Pretty darn sure I run endo too. Not on a PC so I can't build and link smurfy in.

Yes it's a bit hot, yes you want to fire 2 X 2 SRMs. I also stagger the pulses if at all possible, firing in pairs. The thing is beastly though, especially once fully elited. Don't get caught in the open, use it as an ambusher/corner guard. Back up the other assaults and defend against enemy pushes.

Assaults are tricky to play well, use cover and try to stay with the group.

I use 5 weapon groups on this mech, mouse button 1 and 2 for left/right arms. Mouse button 3 and 4 for left/right pairs of SRMs. I use L shift for group 5, torso med pulses. Also be sure to open missile doors so the SRMs fire at the same time.
