I've been going through a crap streak since PSR was introduced and I'm at the top of T3. Wonder how long it will take to get out of PSR hell once I've shed all this recent work stress, travel, etc.

I said Tier 4, T3 at best, and I was right. Couldn't have scored too high with this Panther as my main, an Arrow as a side play, and leveling Kit Foxes. Plus I don't exactly play that much.

Here's mine. It would be better if I didn't primarily use "non-meta" mechs. Posted Image

I was secretly hoping for Tier 4 so I could play my Urbies in peace.

One more reason why I want Weight Class Tiers. Don't mind facing Mt Tryhard in my Hunchbacks. But when I have to drive outside my comfort zone for Tournaments, it's kinda uncool when I have to face tier 1 players in my Light Mechs...which I am probably a Tier 5 in.

wanna know the truth?
I would like tiers to be chassis related.

leveling unbasiced mechs would be easier.
Playing for fun without tryhard around would be easier

Is this a joke?

How in the world can a Atlas only (now with his little Brother a Orion) be Tier 1?

Or is something funky going on here?

What sorcery is this?

Damage dealt is a large factor in the match score. Match score is a primary determinant in the change in PSR. A high match score even in a loss will give little or no change in PSR. Assaults deal more damage on average. When well played they last most of the match and have more time to do more damage. I think all of this would tend to contribute to having a higher PSR depending on which mechs you use. (It should NOT be that way in my opinion but unless PGI has compensated for mech selection in calculating how match score contributes to PSR then this will be how it works).

I would be interested in seeing statistics on tier vs. mech played contributing to that score.

I suspect there may be a lot of folks who drive Timberwolves/Dire Wolves/Assaults in the higher tiers simply due to how much damage these can do ... but time will tell. If you are in tier 1 and have to wait a long time for a match to fill light mechs because there are fewer light mechs in the higher tiers then it should become pretty evident.

Anyway, PGI should have the metrics and statistics so if they get someone to look at it they should be able to figure out whether the system is borked or not :) ... however, their problem then would be what, if anything they can or should do about it or whether they should remain quiet. If you see match scores for lights and mediums creeping up (or the match score requirements for lights and mediums dropping for a PSR increase) then those may be indications of PGI fine tuning the system.

Yea I remember the sores. I did not get them to bad. They gave me a mouth wash that worked really well. I always said that as I was in the process of loosing my hiar, I looked like Bill the Cat:

The worst part Id say for me was the isolation Id have to go through after Chemo and my body's immune systems regenerated. I had a great support systems so I was luck. Just stunk not being able to really hug my daughter for weeks at a time.

Oh and the constant IV that made me wake up 5 times a night to pee. :-)

But I had awesome Drs and Nurses that knew what they were doing and were pros.

So are you at Moffit, MD Anderson, Huctchinson? I was at a great place here in South Florida, Memorial West which is affiliated with Moffit in Tampa.

EDIT: Oh and by the way....Im Tier 4 :-) Gotta stay on topic :-)

South Florida, ha i wish, Raigmore Hospital in Inverness Scotland is my place of treatment, sunshine you say, what the hell is that? lol.
Yeah the isolation drove me up the wall, Sean Lang and Cattra Kells videos helped me not lose my mind, i couldn't read due to the chemo causing bruising on my retinas, and all i would see while trying to focus on a book was lots of bright pretty colours where the words should have been.
Oh and Baby Metal, lots of Baby Metal! (yeah i'm a weird) Actually, some of the younger nurses and consultants dug what i was listening to.

sure, would be nice, but probably a lot more work for PGI. And usually there is some correlation between weight class performance. (though while I am a Medium Jock, I am probably Tier 5 in a Cicada, so yeah, not saying chassis isn't preferable)

well im playing only from MAY 2015. i started with KDR 0.23 (now 0.91) and im now doing 600-800 damage each second match. What is beyond me, that loosing with ACH (200 damage) showed me green bar change, while loosing MAL-R (400 damage) gives me red bar progress. WTF PGI ? Im not even trying understand the mechanism.
Yesterday i played 10 matches, 7 goes green, 3 red, and guess what, my bar moves +- 0.5mm.
Seems i have to play 1000+ matches to move to T4.
Well this is wrong, cause its better to start new account ? LUL, no wont do it. so my long term goal, will be T4.

I mean, The system is not set fine. While people could play 200 matches and reached T1 since 2015, now from T5, it takes around 10000 matches to get there, and i have to win ALL matches.

GJ PGI, better not carry on.

Lights and mediums are harder to score damage in ... so you don't need as high a match score in those in order to increase/stay the same/drop your PSR. So 200 damage in a light mech in a loss gave you a PSR increase (not sure what else might have been in your match score) while 400 damage in a heavy mech in a loss gave you a PSR decrease because the expectations in heavy mechs are higher.

It is an attempt by PGI to even out the weight classes in terms of PSR change. I have no idea exactly what the factors might be but if folks collect enough data then it should be possible to figure out some of the formulae.

I'm halfway to T1.

I have mechs that I do well in and others not so good.

Tier ratings are based on overall performance between all mechs a person may play. This is a better way to judge your performance as a MechWarrior.

You can't claim to have a higher tier based on your favorite mech.

Keep in mind the PSR rating is tracked from January, and your tier is based on those numbers.
