I thought I was tier 2 scraping the bottom of tier 1, or tier 3 scraping the bottom of tier 2. I'm ok with this, though I do want to get to tier 1 to see how those people play.

Easy, just don't take the game super serious and have fun, play any mech you want when you want with any build you want, feel sorry for these guys that have to run only tryhard builds, fun life, lol, the e-peen is strong with some of these peeps, have fun with your tier one buddies, hope you guys slaughter each other!

It's a good thing for me because it makes me eager to improve and maaaybe push over that Tier 2 Edge. Not sure how that fits into my schedule of playing new mechs and freaky builds all the time, though.

they play just like you, but more
Maybe so, but I've found that gameplay and tactics change across tiers. That's really what I want, to see if the tactics for solo queue change at tier 1. I'd be disappointed if it didn't.

since it's not like tier 1 only drops with and against tier 1, would really depend on how heavily weighted the individual drop is, I suppose. But most people who pack a solo tier 1 are used to dropping in the mixed with everything and the underhive, and thus, probably are pretty fend for themselves.

I would be so much happier if It was one tier up/down so I wasnt being matched against tier 1s and with tier 5s -.-

agreed.
Or at least very weighted as you get away from your own tier so that the number of 1 and 5s would be very low

What the hell is the point of a tiered matching system that when you hit the middle you get matched with everyone? Doesnt it lose any meaning at that point?

This is true. I've had some matches with Sarlic where we were just like so dead before the match even started. Still not done patching the client so I can't confirm my tier 4-ness.

That's kinda the point of a tiered system. Middle of the road is going to see the extreme ends. Where is Tier 5 won't see the top Tier.
