Overall, great additions on the road to getting this game ready for Steam.

But:

1.) Main Home Screen - Faction title should display. New players are not going to know what these 'symbols' mean. Especially if they are not familiar with lore.

2.) No HUD in Mechwarrior Academy - Was in the starting mech in Training, went to switch to the Jager with Dual Gauss, skipped the cutscene, and when I came back I had no HUD. That's...not good, especially for new players and how training is literally the FIRST thing they will be doing.
Anyone else have this problem?

3.) Force Music to ON during cutscenes. Having music turned off, I thought something was either wrong with the game, or hilariously bad when the cutscene launched without music, and with minimal SFX,

4.) Audio "clank" of the training mech falling from the dropship is out of sync.

5.) Control prompts during the tutorial should ADAPT to what you have set up in your keyboard bindings settings. Frustrating when Cpt. Adams is telling you to "press X" to unlock your arms, but you don't even have it bound at all.

Overall, I hope it gets a lot of polish before the Steam release, but it's a great step.

6.) F1 Keyboard Quick Show should also ADAPT to your keybindings.

Other thoughts: The starting battlemech should be something SIMPLER.

-Should be a mech with a CENTERED cockpit. (TBolt is NOT) I can see this being REALLY confusing to new players, especially when the 'leg direction' indicator pops up, and they notice it is offcenter.

-Should be a mech with 3 or less weapon groups. I can see 5 weapon groups being way too confusing for a new player.

someone else get stocked in the f6 field? or target training, How to shoot the Cokpit when the mech is facing directlc to a building? many bugs in there but like it so far.

yes agree, also the throttle decay, i have it off by default, So 5 weapon groups and watching speed and everything might be hard for new players
Yes to adapt the player settings, (keybinds throttle dcay on /off.

When playing the challenges with the own mechs a point to rearm would be nice

The tutorial is actually nice; I had my doubts, but I think this can be useful.

Although I wish you could switch off throttle decay...and perhaps the ground crews were more numerous...or actually died when you shot them, which pisses Captain Adams off...

Future advanced tutorials might also touch on seeking out units, following orders, focusing fire on targets, and listening to drop team leaders.

Oh, and one more thing: I can't help but notice...when you shoot Captain Adams, and he remarks about you losing a leg...

It's spelled "losing." You're "losing" a leg.

L-O-S-E = the opposite of win; to be defeated

L-O-O-S-E = the opposite of tight; like a rope or tie or clothing

When you lose a leg or game, that leg is gone, or you have been defeated.

When you deal with something that's "loose," that means you've failed to tie something tightly...

Seriously...

I also had the missing HUD issue when I started doing the MechWarrior Academy part, which made the fast fire/speed shooting part rather a challenge. I.e. I exited out after actually hitting a couple (which surprised me). But no HUD is a pretty bad thing. I assume I can turn it back on or something, but new players aren't going to probably know how to do that, either.

Maybe Capt Adams wants you to set it free... "Recruit, loose that leg now!" Or, "Do not loose your leg!"

I also didn't have HUD with some of the mechs. But after completing different parts of academy I got HUD on them. Maybe it was that some of them are supposed to become available only after completing stuff, but then they should not be available at all too early, or at least there should be stuff saying so. Before completing rapid fire I got HUD only on mechs that were in the same row with that dual gauss jagermech. After completing rapid fire I got HUD at least on the row where Dragon 1N was. I happen to own 4 Dragon 1N's (for CW lols), two of them are fitted and ready to drive, so the 1N that I could select in academy was actually one of those, it came even with my modules equipped (it had UAV and artillery strike so couldn't miss that) and my weapon groups set.

Some other ideas for the tutorial:

1) In the Academy, it would be great if the "tryout" mechs were (C) variants, not base stock variants...let them try the mechs that they will actually be playing as trials, not the awful stock variants. There should also be some explanation as to what the (C) variants are, and how they differ from stock.

2) Let it populate the other mechs with mechs from our garage if we choose (or have a spot where we can step and select a specific other mech to step into). Just makes it quicker to switch from mech to mech to run through things like the gauntlet.

The missing HUDs can be fixed by powering down then up again, but it is definitely a bug. Throttle decay has been on by default for years, I know because it was on when I started, I learned using it, and am used to it now. So throttle decay is not going to cause new players problems, it is actually going to be more familiar for most players because that is how cars drive in games.

A much more interesting, informative and interactive tutorial.

One point of note from me so far:

The tutorial does not recognise the players chosen keyboard layout.
This is a particular problem when you are required to Alpha Strike in the tutorial using the "\" key. On my UK keyboard layout it is the wrong key. UK players need to use the # key.
This will be worse for other layouts such as the French Azerty layout.

Great work on the Tutorial.
Was a lot of fun to run trough and I think it will be of enormous benefit going forward.

In response to a couple of points made here:
@xeromynd
What do you mean by the 'Faction Title'?
Your own rank within the faction which you change at your own behest using the Titles/Badges screen?
The pilot summary shows you the one you are currently displaying.
Or do you mean the name of the actual faction? ie. Marik, Steiner, Clan Wolf etc.

Re the control prompts.
It appeared to be picking up my mappings, specifically that I didn't have one for the arm unlock. After jumping into the settings and mapping it to an available key it then worked for me but I use the US layout.

The actual warring factions, "Kurita, Liao, Clan Wolf etc..." I have a feeling most players new to the IP won't have any idea what a green falcon symbol means.

At last: nice tutorial guys! Keep up the good work! Now the new players will have an idea of what it means to pilot a battlemech!

^ Aside from the dynamic keyboard visuals everyone asked for above...

Explain how LRMs and SSRMs work with locking on. Explain minimum range on PPC and LRMs. Explain ECM, and how to counter it.

Key one is explaining minimum range. I hate watching people LRM at < 180 meters.
