Payback Event

I'm really not going to actively strive for something like that. I guess this weekend the Playstation gets some love. And if I do play a few games of MWO and I manage to garner some qualifying matches? Nice bonus I guess. But I can't really call this an actual event.

FYI, The territorial challenge was the first event that I failed to get the reward I was working towards. I don't always complete every challenge, and even skip a few if I don't care about the reward. Up until now if I participated in a challenge, I reached the level of completion I was aiming for.
Good on you for making the event something that rewards participation by degrees, instead of being a nearly all-or-nothing reward.

Good, bad, doesn't matter!
Having events (even if ones like this) is something more than just playing for no objective.
So thank you.

In the previous event this lead to a ton of very undesirable player behavior, including people (in assault mechs!) hiding instead of ejecting when out of ammo or weapons, their team members raging in the chat for them doing so, friendly fire against powered down team members, purposefully leading enemies to powered down mechs to force them to continue fighting in new mechs and so on. In general, the CW scoring system rewards abundantly for selfish, completely team disregarding play.
Of course, 200 points is low enough that it's possible to gain even playing properly and without gaming the system, there's no leaderboard this time, and the rewards are so low that I doubt many will bother trying very hard. But repeating the same type of event scoring right after a disastrously failed and unfun previous event shows that PGI either doesn't understand that the divide by deaths match scoring in CW advocates bad play, or just doesn't care.
Edit: An obvious easy fix for the score would be to simply add a fixed amount of points to the score for every mech a player has remaining. This way a player would still be awarded for managing to survive matches, but wouldn't cause the scores to be almost halved every time a player dies. Divide the whole score always with 4, if the score has to be normalized with regular queue games.

This event don't force you to do anything special - play as you want to play. you only get 50.000 Cbills per game extra. This is nothing you have to play like a asocial idiot - stay with the team work as team - and if you earn the extra be happy other wise - don't rage.
same for the CW matches - with 40 games in CW you may have more MechBays than you would have bought with the 600 MC you will earn - if you already had bought the MAD package.

However as others pointed out the 200 points in CW with the current formula for scoring is simply Horse5hit.
Good players WILL use up their mechs as they tank, push forward, HELP their team win. Not by getting the 300 and then running to the rear to ensure they don't die and see their score get destroyed.
Please fix the formula!

~ No minimum amount of games to reach a tier of prizes
~ No random element (like last week)
~ Modest score requirement
And all this crap about "here comes the LRMs, gauss and ERLL". Guess what, lots of people play like that without tournaments. I see very little increase in a play style that always exists. Maybe I'm wrong. It just seems crazy to come on and ***** about being offered a bonus for playing a game you already play. ok. done have a good weekend
EDIT:
Wow, it auto edited b!tch. Didn't expect that. So the ***** is actually the word b i t c h. We are all adults, I think we can handle that word.

Good thing is, everyone can play as much or as few as he likes and gets rewards for every qualifying game - not only a total after having completed the grind. 10 games, half a million C-bills, if you've got MAR, throw in a few MC to boot. No harm done in my books.
To put it simply: Play, and if you're doing well, you get a little extra. If not, just play and have fun.

Lies... all lies...
everyone... think for yourselves...
do you even know how fun it is to screw with the enemy from 900 meters away, with dual gauss?... do you not understand that this is a team game?.... so let your team do its job and distract the enemy while you do yours and screw with them from afar. its not your fault if the team dies.
gauss not your kinda soup?.... then some sweet sweet lurms or rainbow laser puke may do the trick.
remember this... every single one of your teammates hate you...only there to take your precious precious points.... so hate them right back....take from them all the points.

Yeah I didn't convey the idea very well, I was trying to point out the amount of fail this event has. Many players like myself are worn out from the last one, and now they have to endure horrible behavior from others in-game even if they have zero interest in the prizes (not very difficult with that troll Cbill amount)
It actually seems like the last 2 events were made by a different person and it hurts to think it will be like this from now on. Imagine trying to get a "trick or treat" chance this Halloween and you gotta score 300 with half your team vomiting gauss and lurms just to click and get a flamer. Not cool.

Last event forced you to:
1. Get 200-300 points in each of the pugs/CW maps before getting any rewards at all. It was an all or nothing thing.
2. Drop in a random queue for god knows how many game just to have the chance to drop in one of the last maps you need in order to attempt getting enough points.
This even requires you to:
1. Drop and do well/enough to get 300 points.
You will still be rewarded if you don't get 20 300+points in each of the four chassis. And you don't have that feeling of having to keep playing because you are 1 map away from getting the next tier reward.

No, for playing lame meta gauss laser vomit and being selfish with your teammates.
So, just like Solo queue every day, with or without an event.
There is a two word solution to that, but you are not going to like it.
Group Queue.
