Payback Event

In this case however, I just don't understand the haters. At all. PGI is giving you 50K of C-bills if you play a match and you happen to do well enough to get a 300 score (200 in CW). That's it. Yes, achieving that score is a challenge. Yes, you can only get up to 4 mil c-bills. But if you play anyway (which we all regularly do), I see no downside to being rewarded with some extra C-bills if I have a good game.
Sorry. Done trying to be reasonable.
Thanks PGI for the opportunity. Now if you don't get my Quickdraws re-scaled ASAP, you're going to see some seriously irrational complaining that will make some of the b!tching above look downright pleasant.

I'm really not going to actively strive for something like that. I guess this weekend the Playstation gets some love. And if I do play a few games of MWO and I manage to garner some qualifying matches? Nice bonus I guess. But I can't really call this an actual event.
I don,t get this at all. It's free c-bills. Just play like you would normally play on the weekends. What's up with this crying over FREE stuff? Don't call it an event then. Just call it an every mech is a hero mech weekend.

This event don't force you to do anything special - play as you want to play. you only get 50.000 Cbills per game extra. This is nothing you have to play like a asocial idiot - stay with the team work as team - and if you earn the extra be happy other wise - don't rage.
same for the CW matches - with 40 games in CW you may have more MechBays than you would have bought with the 600 MC you will earn - if you already had bought the MAD package.
Same feeling here. might drop for just 5 matches at a time or maybe 20 at some point. Who knows. I don't have to be pinned down under the computer by MWO this weekend.

Match score of 250 for PUGs. That would be cool. 300 will get this community complaining. 200 to easy for just 1 match qualifiers. 200 for the last event seemed right on the random map event. However, the 5 MC for marauder pack with a high match score might not encourage sales. Lowering it just might help in that department.
CW, can't critique that one.

I've been trying to master my Jenners, Hunchbacks, Orions, and Highlanders before the IICs comes out. I have a mix of brawler and long range builds from a hunchie with 2SRM6, 2MPL, 1ERL for brawling, to an LRM hunchie for support. Which do I think is going to do better for this event? Probably the LRM hunchie, and I'm probably going to get a bunch of hate for it despite the fact that it has been my build for that variant since before these events.
I was in my Oxide (4xSRM4s) last night getting around 730 damage, Getting around 600ish in my JR7d (2xSRM4, 4ML), gaining lots of component destructions and kill assists, even a few kills that averaged me around 425 match score in the Pugs... Do I think I'm going to be able to do that now with the completionists and tourney freaks will be out there? Nope, nope, I will probably be cannon fodder until they get what they came for and leave. I guess the only choice I have is to wait until those players are done gobbling up what they want, then maybe I can come back and enjoy the game again.
Everyone was so relaxed over the week, communicating and enjoying the game. We worked as teams, we won as teams, we lost as teams. No one lost their cool, there were even a few pleasant conversations between enemy teams. I have a feeling that I'm going to watch that all melt away this weekend.
I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers; not for getting the rewards, but for having an enjoyable experience.

Get off the crack pipe, your rewards and scoring system suck.

This really sums it up. I have plans for Saturday and won't be playing much. Maybe a little on Friday and on Sunday after training. On Monday and Tuesday i might be out there to go farm LRM-Boats a little.
For all the whiners that say 300 is to high:
I tried to lift my tier from rank 4 to 3 last week, so i tried to carry the team, go for kill shots and give scouting infos (and uavs) whenever possible. That really helped, but also it got me fairly good matchscores everytime. So i don't think a 300 score is still challenging, but i think i would need about 160 matches for it. With 200 Match score it would be just a giveaway, i would need around 90 games to get there.
Sure it will be hardest to achieve with the lights, but i like the little backstabbers. It's not the best challenge PGI ever made, but it's a nice one.
So game on, it's payback time.

I disagree; this time, you don't need to buy two mech packs, plus the Resistance Pack or God knows what else just to qualify for the prizes-now EVERYONE can earn them.
Thank you, PGI, for continually putting on events.

Incorrect sir. Back when I used to give an ish about the Adders I pulled out an old MW4 build. 2xLRM15s, 2xML, 1xFlamer (because at the time I couldn't remove it). I had about 720 ammo so yea I had to be careful about who I took shots at, but wow I raked in the c-bills and xp. It goes against everything the adder should be, but I got lots of damage and component destructs before finishing off enemies in the brawling phase with my closer range weapons.
It was a pretty awesome Lil'Lurm.

Once again, you will note that the primary complaint of many of us here is that the PUG queue becomes quite unbearable during event weekends when the focus is on scoring points.
In this case, it is quite right to blame PGI who have yet to find a solution to a fair point system instead of that heavy emphasis on dmg.
Its not even fun to play a brawler during this weekend even if you're not looking to actively qualify for the rewards. You try to lead a charge and what is the rest of your team doing? Holding back and either LRMing or Gauss sniping.
I suppose it might be a little more balanced this time around as there is a reward for all weight classes. Last event was pretty much lopsided towards Heavies and Assaults.
