I have been MWO-active since before the game's release. However, "life" has gotten in the way and I've been inactive for about two years. Man, how the GUI has changed!!

I'd like to obtain a 'TB' mech, but I can't even figure out how to buy a new mech anymore. Sorry for the unbelievably newb question, but what series of links do I need to use to purchase new mechs once in the game? Thanks.

The easiest way, while in game, is to access the "Store" tab at the top of the home page. From there, if you glance at the left side of your screen you will see options for Bundles (only purchasable with MC) and BattleMechs. If you are wanting to just use C-bills, select the BattleMech option and browse to your heart's content.

Edit: Also, I hope my answer doesn't seem condescending in any way, I was just hoping to lay it out in the easiest manner possible.

Fenris covered it perfectly. I'll just add that unlike before, you now have a button that says "view in the mechlab", when you select a battlemech to purchase. When you click it, you basically get to customize the mech, and fiddle with it, including changing equipment and upgrades, without spending any C-Bills. You also have the added benefit of seeing how the hardpoints will actually line up on your mech.

Fantastic. Thanks for being gentle. Like most things, once you know how to do it the thing seems easy.

I recommend checking out Spike Brave's YouTube channel. Lots of instructive video's for the beginning or returning player. Including ones about the interface:

Happy to help, and this section of the forums is very civil, so don't be afraid to ask ANY questions.
