I wonder how much their packs are going to costs.

Gotta chip it in tommorrow. These guys have the experience, now make my wet dream come trough!

Guessing roughly 50-80-120 packs.

There was always Clans, but they won't be represented AFAIK. Every interview and information I've read have all said 3025, almost two and a half decades prior to the invasion, is when the game starts. I imagine they will make an appearance in later games and/or an expansion, though, as they are pretty popular, depending on how well this game does.

That a good question. Its easier to add clans in a single player then everything players are buying at this kickstarter will be made garbage and thrown in the dump when the Clans are added. Or will they be balanced in some way. :) Interesting stuff.

See if Mechwarrior Online went that way they could only sell clan mechs and players would all have to be Clanners. That would really suck. Glad everyone woke up from their acid trip of revising the entire Battletech game into a one sided joke and brought some balance back.

I should add the romantic idea of Clans fighting against the odds like the 300 spartans isnt a bad idea, but the Spartans had help, used tactics and terrain to do so well and they beat the Immortals for entirely different reasons. So I dont mind the idea, just the methods of making one side easy mode.

Balance is less of a sticking point in a primarily single player game. You don't really have to be fair to the AI, because it won't complain, (unless you program it to). Not sure if there will be coop options or pvp options, but that's a bridge that's pretty far into the future to cross. They've still got to get funding for the game first.

I think he means as in that in lore the Clans technically existed in the timeline, just not active in the Inner Sphere. I mean realistically the Wolfs Dragoons were Clanners on an scouting expedition really. Mostly freebirths if I recall. And they were around in 3025.

Also that the game developers have made it sound like they will at least not be in the first game/original release. Who knows about sequels and DLC though.

There will be DFA.

"no true Battletech without DFA"... something sounded like this :)

edit: maybe PGI could hear that too :P

It means that to the best of my knowledge, the Clans won't make any official appearance in this installment. But they existed, albeit out of the knowledge of the Inner Sphere, since Kerensky's exiles established themselves. I'm not sure if Wolfe's Dragoons counts as being represented, as they were there as spies, not officially recognized as being Clan.
