My wallet is ready!

Shadowrun:Hong Kong
If anyone wants to know, backing the Shadowrun games with 15$ got you a copy of the game, and they're well worth it.
Afterwards there were things like the soundtrack, high quality images for printing posters, a messenger bag or even a meeting with the inventor of Shadowrun, Though that was at the 10k range iirc.
Various goodies in between.

Just wondering if there might be something like a goodie from PGI.
Back Battletech with 20$, get an Alphastrike Camo! ;)

turn based .... so pausing every single time between turns. naaaaaah.

Yep, because planning what to do, which strategy, where to go, at which enemy to focus fire....you know.... brain works.

Man... I have to say I'm pretty surprised/disappointed in the mediocre support in this thread. "Hopefully it will be FTP?" "... a great story driven mechwarrior simulator is never going to happen?" They haven't mentioned ANYTHING AT ALL about the game OR how much funding they're asking per founder. Maybe you guys could possibly wait at least until 10 AM Pacific today before you start spreading the EXACT OPPOSITE of support. On the MWO forums no less.

Srsly, u guys suck! >: (

for some reason I think people fail to understand that it's not PGI making the game. so there won't be any division of funds, manpower etc. between the titles, no shift of focus toward a new title. all PGI has to do with BT is sharing their art assets like mech models (which, honestly, are amazing) for consistency.

stop spelling doom & gloom guys, the game's in good hands.

The game engine they use for the Shadowrun games is a good fit for a turn based Battletech game. All they need to do is change the weapon options on each unit and the art work. The underlying game rules would also change obviously but things like to hit and damage application would depend on the battletech rules and the random number generator :)

I am looking forward to see what they come up with.

Less than two hours to go. Too bad I will be stuck on the freeway. At least I will have time to think about how to fit this into my budget.

Very eager to see how this one turns out. Turn based vs. real time is a very different fix for me, and it would be 18 months development cycle I believe they said in another article, but still. Could be pretty kewl and I am interested to see some vehicle designs in the MWO aesthetic. Would be pretty keen to recreate them in Blender once I get better with the program. Right now I think I can get like 1995 level models made myself, lol just 20 years of skill to catch up :D

Personally I have been been waiting for a game like to for like... don't know... probably 20 years :D

Me, I've been waiting for a game like this since 1987, when I first got my grubby little hands on this:

(And yes, I still have it. Well-thumbed and a bit dog-eared, but still great).

The game engine for the Shadowrun games is Unity 4. They'll be building a whole new 3D engine for this game in Unity 5.

Seriously? All that buildup and nothing happens when the timer hits 0?

People seem to be DDOSing the site by reloading it over and over expecting something to happen besides the timer being at 0. If you are going to have a countdown something should happen when the clock hits 0.

Pretty insane that there's over $20,000 raised in the first three minutes.
