So not only do I get to run them here against Metaloving FPS Rambos......

But I get to build my TT style unit around them in Battltech! Yay!

(expect rambling and disjointed posts today.....for the first time since Crescent Hawks revenge that a Warhammer has been in a real MW title?)

I'd prefer the Catalyst's designs (less streamlined, chunkier and clunkier), but... These will do.

I still want my quads, though.

I am kind of hoping they will add the Chameleon for a tutorial. Sad the Chameleon is not the tutorial 'Mech for MWO.

I sincerely hope that HBS is not restricted to existing MWO mechs. There are a lot of mechs that may never make to MWO that I really hope to see in HBS. the goal after all is to unify mech art design, not necessarily become dependent on a single studio or artist.

So I am looking at the situation glass-half full, yes we will get every MWO mech! but I hope we also get IS mechs that may never make into MWO.

Quote

Quad-boob occurs when a woman's bra is snug enough that part of the breasts squeeze up above the fabric of the cups, creating an upwelling of boobs visible even with a shirt on top. To the unlearned boob admirer it may give the impression of four boobies.
Check out that quad-boob over there, she must have escaped from Jabba's Palace.

IF they decide to include them...

Just b/c PGI is sharing some assets doesn't mean HBS has to use them.

These are two mechs I feel like they would be stupid not to.

Also mean shared art with the bizarre looking Warhammer we have here, but at least in the Battletech game I will be far enough away from the mech not to notice as much. :( Other than that it is indeed good news.

I totally agree Bishop, will be running a Marauder as my lance's Heavy as soon as they add it, if they add it.

Man I've always wanted to do that, and now it's possible again. Loving where Battletech as a franchise is going these days.

In the FAQ for the Battletech kickstarter HBS said this:

"We’re excited by the great redesigns Piranha and Catalyst have done for some those “imperially entangled” ‘Mechs but we’re not committing to them right now. However, it’s a long time until we ship, so cross your fingers!"

Looks to me like they're waiting to gauge the reaction of HG to these redesigns, fearful of the legal backlash. If these redesigns turn out to be as kosher as I hope they are then I suspect HBS will add them between now and release.

In HBS' game, I'll be shooting to have my CO ride a Warhammer, supported by a Marauder and an Archer at the very least.

be pretty idiotic to skip two of the most iconic mechs in the IP, especially since a good chunk of what PGI has WON'T be on the table, like.... any Omnimech, the Origins IIC Mechs and Mauler.

Only thing that might upstage my CO running a Hammer is POSSIBLY a MAD-3D. Bone stock, those were beasts in 3025.

what's so bizarre about it? Way better proportioned and such than the official one over at CGL, IMO.

PGI seems desperate to me.
Pack after pack after pack.
They got me with the marauder.
They wont get any more money from me until they deliver CONTENT except mechs.

They were doing a mech a month, total. A ways back, the plan was to increase that to 2. So far, they are staying well in that sales model that has been established for quite some time. Seems a stretch to ascribe desperation, since reality is, the basics haven't changed.

So I posted the Chameleon question in the BT Kickstarter comments and Mitch said "Ask me again in about 9 months..." So it is not off the table. I would kill to have a Chameleon as a starter 'Mech no matter how mediocre a combat design it is.

If we are lucky they will expand the roster a lot. It will really be nice to use adapted TT rules since once again 'Mech shape or weapon placement on model will not likely be a major factor.

Battletech is a one time purchase, right? No 'mech packs or anything like that?

Its mostly the arms that bother me. To me the upper arm is too short and thin which gives it an odd disproportionate look. The other two things that bother me are the light and the head. The light is just too small, and while I assume that is so that it doesn't become an easy target it just doesn't look good. The head makes it look like a turtle with its head tucked in, or that someone hit it over the head with a mallet. With the head that way it looks like one giant shoulder and more or less flat across the top. I don't know why but my imediate reaction when seeing it is not good.
