For years now we've had a skill that literally does absolutely nothing: The Pinpoint skill, which is supposed to make convergence 15% faster but convergence isn't even in the game. So every time I sink 3000XP into it I feel like I'm just being taxed and not advancing anything. So please, it can't be that hard or long to replace that skill with ANYTHING that would be of benefit. Even, say for example, a mere 5% increase to all weapon ranges would be SOME sort of benefit versus getting absolutely nothing at all.

Replace The Pinpoint Skill With Something, Anything Else

They will replace the current quirk system with something else. Let's hope they replace the pinpoint skill while they're at it.
Failing that i suppose a skill oriented on the chassis in question would be nice such as higher jumps or faster or less heat for using jumpjets on a mech with JJ's.
Some of my other ideas.
Aill climbing increase like the module only less powerfull on all light mechs?
Slight armor or structural boost to the CT on assault mechs?
Medium mechs get better up/down torso yaw to make it easier to aim torso weapons in uneven terrain?
Heavy mechs...i'm out of ideas.

Make Pinpoint do what is says it does, IE ever notice how a Catapult K2s hardpoints gear it to be able to bring all its firepower to one point very well, make pinpoint do that for say other chasis, on a different level, lets say a shadowcat has three energy mounts, two in each arm, and one in a torso, now let say the mech is jumping or on a slope where it can only bring two out of the three to bear on a target, lets say that range of movement for targeting on a non arm mount weapon is increased by say five percent, it would not break the game, it would give pinpoint a real function and a use. Or it could reduce the spread of weapons that have a spread like SRMs, LRMs, and LBX auto-cannons, say like 5% or so, and adjust it til a balance is reached, either of these in my opinion would be a good feature of pinpoint to do.

Apparently someone stated in the Town Hall that the current skill system was terrible and needed re-doing. However, that's not for a long, long time. Likely not for 1/2 a year, at the least. They've got the Rebalancing, CW Phase 3 and most importantly, above all: New Mech Packs.
Until that's all done, don't expect the new skill trees.

This. Sadly Pgi isn't the biggest game maker plus they're highly dependent on neck packs for money.

They should change it to 15% faster ping. Sure it doesn't do anything either, but at least we could pretend it does.
