Simple solution: Remove invisible walls because it's stupid and this is the only game I know of that does this and if it's to combat snipers then it doesn't help at all because people still snipe so why even?
List me all the pros and cons of an invisible wall that takes 100% of your surprise alpha strike.

They won't remove them b/c then people might actually get shot when they poke out to alpha strike an assault mech.

I understand they're trying to give lights a bit of an edge but putting an invisible wall that neuters other mechs with low sitting hardpoints isn't the way and plus with it gone people will learn not to sit and play peekaboo as much.

I feel your pain, but this has been a known issue since launch.... and as far as I know they're are no plans to fix it.
Maybe with the upcoming map redo's?

I don't notice it on river and forest as much or at all so I think the new maps have it fixed or toned down but it's down right horrid on HPG and desert.
My 1n doesn't work at all on HPG, I have to stand almost out in the open just to shoot.

Sorry, but invisible walls are not a play balance or designed in thing. They are an unfortunate side effect of the way the terrain map and collision map relate. Terrain map has higher fidelity than the collision map; to put it simply terrain objects are complex shapes but the collision maps are simple objects like a cube.
They've done map updates in the past for this, still the worst ones are HPG and Bog. But nothing has changed there recently.

So, it's one of those things that will linger in this game for an indefinite amount of time, due to "priorities".

Have things gotten so desperate around here that people are starting to see poor design and sloppy work by PGI as a "feature" to help light mechs now? Wow.
It's not a feature, it's just more PGI sloppiness. I'd say "get used to it" but if appears that's already happening.
