Hi,

You must also rebalance the WEAPONS!

PGI, GO YOUSELF IN PG and stay vs a DW as 2xGaus Crab

Shoot at each other!

WONDER!

The Crab is red, The DW is only Yellow!

Guess what ! You forgot to rebalance the Weapon DAMAGE in Point-Blank / NEAR-Middle-Far ranges!

Homework again

(another reason to quit again for a while :-< )

Similar Weapons MUST have similar Damage!

uh what? clan gauss and IS gauss do the same exact damage.

the reason why the crab is red is because the direwolf's gauss are closer to eachother and more likely to hit the same location

while the crabs gauss are spread apart and more likely to hit different locations

its a hardpoint location issue not a weapon issue

I'm actually seeing the opposite.

A major loss of damage moving from the KC to the DW using AC groups.

Weapon Balance comes after quirk changes.

While that's true, it's not the main reason for the difference in damage.

A typical dual gauss crab runs 2 gauss rifles, and 3 er large lasers. You can run different weapons, but this gives you the biggest alpha strike realistically possible with a roughly std 300 engine. This does a total of 57 damage. A typical dire wolf setup with dual gauss is 2 gauss rifles, 2 large pulse lasers, and 4 er medium lasers. You can add even more medium lasers but it quickly becomes unbearably hot. The typical setup does 84 damage per alpha strike... So where does the extra damage come from? The lasers of course. The dire wolf 84 pt alpha is only 30 gauss damage, but is 54 laser damage (or more, up to about 98 total damage if you are ok with scorching hot builds).

Well what did you expect when you try to beat a 100 ton clan omnimech in a 50 ton inner sphere battlemech?

I love double Gauss DWFs. If any changes need to be made to the Gauss Rifle it needs a 1000 meter effective range. Just my $.02.

In all seriousness. I think this guy thinks Gauss rifle and an AC 20 should do the same damage because they are similar?...

Considering the fact 1 uses combustion to launch a bullet and the other uses coils of electro magnets to sling a slug over... and also huge range differences and stuff... eeeeeh.
