it would be nice if they reset the Community Warfare Map but just let the Inner Sphere fight Inner fight amongst themselves for a week or so (the Clans each other then as well). That way all the new Steam players aren't running into cw before they are ready. And give a chance for both sides to organize themselves before invasion starts. Just a suggestion.

Awesome idea. Why even wait for steam I wouldn't mind like a few weeks/months of that right now. ;)

Heck I'd request a whole month before invasion.

That doesn't help the new players that would come in a week after.

But in that case, they would have to use the pentagon worlds, and the other clan worlds.. and then let us fight eachother, perhapse introduce Clan Wolverine and do the whole Trial of anihilation thing as an event for the clans, while running a sucsession war for the Inner Sphere..

Then one-two weeks later, run the full clan invasion again..

Can we all start over as Tier 5 when steam goes live? I could use the C-Bills...

Increase the number of segments to 24. That way a planet will fall only after a really determined effort

Yes and the IS could have something similar. Also, along with the Pentagon worlds and such. I guess there have to be SOME use of they grey star system dots lying around the sphere. Also the periphery states are dotted around along with the FRR like star systems "north-east" of the IS. And the oddities, west of Steiner territory, pirate states I think. So much potential.

And so only big units will be able to make a difference in CW. Sorry but no. That's a terrible idea.

The only way cw works on Steam is if they incorporate a quick drop in option for groups and solos a la the regular queues for fast matchmaking, otherwise Steam players, many of which are either casual gamers or unfamiliar with the Battletech/Mechwarrior universe will not use it.

I can only imagine the field day the big units will have in CW after the Steam release.

Not unless PGI implements so much needed gating.

There is certainly some basic gating that could be utilized for MWO Community Warfare without being very harsh and allowing people into the game mode without too much fuss.

-Completion of the Tutorial.

-4 Mastered mechs for faction of choice (totaling drop deck tonnage or less . . . not hard to do with a drop deck of 2 mediums and 2 heavies, each of the same chassis).

-Unlocked at least one Weapon Module (first tiers are only 500 GXP).

-Unlocked at least one Pilot Module (cheapest are only 5k GXP).

That's not hard to complete and would drastically increase the quality of game that people bring to the CW table at a minimum standard.

It also doesn't require anyone to spend any real money, because you can buy and sell the chassis and repurchase everything to have a 4 mech drop deck on the basic 4 mech bays you're given at the start.

I brought up something like that, and there was much whining, and complaining about 4 mastered mechs being too much. So we dropped it down to 4 mechs at full elites.
