I booted into the Jester tonight after playing with Victors and LRM Catapults and not doing as well as I'd like. We get a match in Forest Colony and it was awesome. I hooked up with this Stormcrow and it was on like a third grader on cupcakes! We accounted for five of twelve enemy kills between us, including an Atlas. It was like coming home to an old friend.

You ever do that?

Is it a matter of it being an old favorite or is it a matter that your old favorite happened to have relatively high strength + its full combat potential can be unlocked easily?

Well, I don't know. Catapults aren't typically considered to be über-mechs. Even the Jester. Though it is nimble and has good hardpoints. It's fragile, however.

heh I don't have old favourites to dust off. 100+ mechs, and all of them get used as regularly as I can cycle through them and as whim strikes :)

My first mech was the Jenner F, I haven't run it in a while, been too busy playing with my Arctic Cheetahs. I should go play it again, I suspect I'd do better in it than my Cheetahs.

Definitely. My RVN-2X, my CPLT-K2 and CPLT-C1. I think it's time to revisit my Catapults when I'm done levelling my Kniggets. I think they're underrated.

Yeah, dusted off my VTR-9B the other day (ok...month, lol) and did a couple drops..... collected a half dozen kills and an average of 600 dmg, after not touching one for like, literally a year (though plenty of Assault Mech Drops), felt kind of nice, but decide to quit while ahead so as to cherish the afterglow

I'd like to say that my Founders Atlas gets plenty of love but sadly this isn't the case. I only used to run the Atlas cause of the 30% C-Bills bonus but now I've got a dozen other mechs with the same bonus and vastly superior hardpoints.

Pilot the mechs you enjoy so that you enjoy being a Mechwarrior.

All the time. I Pokemon far too much so 90% of my playtime is skilling up unmastered 'Mechs, anytime I swap back to mastered chassis is like night and day.

All the time.

Founders Jenner
Founders catapult
Ilya Muromets
Cent AH
Misery

Not so much luck with the other 2 founders, but they're there in the hangar ready to go if I ever need them.

I was having the hardest time getting my tournament rewards ... until I broke out the old warhorse Shadow Hawk 2K. 300+ four times in a row, like a song.

Honestly, I think PokéMek is a trap.

I like to switch back and forth between the mechs I am leveling and my favorites, breaks up the grind and keep me positive (I usually do fairly well in my favorite mechs).

Now this I can relate to, still got about 40 mechs to master while my mastered mechs collect dust, DAMM PGI for making me buy their pixel toys............ back to the Zeus (which I have not begun to like yet)

If I fancy a change I jump in my Hellbringers (each one has a C-uAC20 and a few Mpls) - they're just a nice ride.

For IS, I like to jump in one of my CTFs - two of them have Tartan skins. For some reason they remind me of a Scottish piper, so I quite often play Scotland the Brave when marching them into battle. My kids think Im barmy for doing this mostly because Im English.

Because taking down anything with 1 LPL, is quite satisfying.
