I had a string of really good (1000+) games in a a bj and after 4-5 drops a guy on the other side says he was reporting me for hacking. When I asked him for clarification he accused me of wallhacking because I shot him as he came around a corner on crimson. I tried to explain that I saw him run behind the building and simply aimed at the other edge but he insisted I was hacking. I didn't get a warning or anything, but it did amuse me. I heard a dude griping last night about how someone was hacking because they held their lasers on his CT and cored him out, which he felt should be impossible in an ACH. I later spectated this person and he was playing a cheetah with arm lock on. And not twisting. other players and I tried to explain that practice would allow people to hold full burns, but hey, what can ya do. Science looks like magic to people that don't understand it, this was kinda the same thing. "I can't do it, so it's impossible"

i had a hilarious dialogue in a cw game today

so, that enemy player asks: 'why do i always lose exactly 9% hp when clan mechs shoot me?'
i thought to joke and answer: 'it's a known cheat, you can google 'mwo 9% cheat''
they: 'oh, i will report this game then'
me was like.... serious, dude/
i remained silent and they proceeded to talk how they complained to pgi a few times and pgi always said them they were too busy investigating other cases

You can be reported for anything. The threat of it is all you know.

If it is something PGI cares about they will then follow up. It takes multiple reports to get a warning. I am sure there are folks who have 3-5 friends in different units that share a TS channel decide to put the hammer down and that individual will probably get whacked quicker than someone who does the same thing more often. It is not a quick button push to send a report, but PGI probably has the tools to check logs and stats after they receive a specific number.

I've had people say they were going to report me and my unit for group dropping Splatcats only match after match. Might have had something to do with the splash damage not being patched out until the next week.

Also probably reported for disarming and legging a guy that in the previous match didn't show up until 7 minutes in and when he did just started tking people. He drew the short straw and I was in his next match - so no weapons and minus a leg on that Crab.

My favorite in chat debacle was a pal telling the other team (During Tuk, against skittles) -

"If you want to know what your teammates load out is zoom in on them and hit the \ button to bring up their details."

Followed very shortly by - "Please stop doing that!"

Or the ever classic "Alt+F4 to bring up the minimap(engage thermal/night, ecm, ect)" until PGI got mad at us about that one.

only think ive been reported for is bad language. frankly the game should have an opt in swear filter and only bother punishing those that circumvent it. reports would be used to both improve the filter and report exploits but only exploits would be punished.

There was a 'update' to include piggy-backing as a violation.

they could have fixed it by adding dfa to the game. instead they gave their lawyer $1000 to rewrite their tos.

I guess I've been reported for Team Killing but I haven't ever been banned. I just do it when there's silly events that people decide it's quicker to DC to get a different map. So I nuke our DC because I'm denying the other side a chance at those easy points and easy kills.

temp ban obviously

btw when you are banned in the game you cannot use the forum too (which is kind of silly) so if they post here it already means they are not banned right now

I think i can understand your reasons to DC - but long story short story -
DC / suiciding / hiding without participating in a battle is against the CoC - and could cause a report.

If it was for the first time - don't care. People are pissed off about DC tanks to this Territorial Event.
Even if you know that you will loose - you have to proof it (although when you think you can't win - you won't win, no matter the odds)

Even if you can 100% prove you will loose how is that even remotely a valid excuse for anything? It's not winwarrior online. Even if you loose you are still playing the game as validly. Winning or loosing should not be the reason you play or not play. You can still have just as much fun trying to win. Or at least I can. People are so butthurt and selfish these days they will whine about normal stuff.

At the time, when 3x4 and Clans were released, the symptoms of ELO hell started to appear. I guess, it's due to PGI's "matches played = skill" philosophy. By the time, autumn started, I have been stomped in every single match, I've played. That's when I started to simply quit matches, when: 1) It was another obvious stomp 2) I was dropped at some terrible map, it's pointless to wast time on - Terra Therma, Alpine Peaks, etc. 3) I was dropped on the same map more then 2 times in a row, especially if it's not good map, like Turmaline or Crimson Strait, cuz it's unfair and shows, that map rotations actually isn't random and maps can be forced by PGI, how they desire. 4) I was dropped on bad side of map on unbalanced maps, like lower spawn points at Alpine Peaks, especially if I was always dropped at the same side, that shows, that spawn point selection is unfair and not random, i.e. PGI can force specified spawn points the way, they desire. (Only true RNG is fair: when devs can control some aspects of the game according to their desire - it's always unfair. MM - is exception of course, cuz it's intended to keep you away from players with inappropriate skill level) First I was doing it occasionally, but then, as situation was becoming worse and worse, I started to do it way too often, so some other players noticed it and reported me, which caused getting warning from GM. After getting warning I finally decided, that I should play this normally or just simply quit it.

Female friend was feeling sad because of personal problems, decided to take her Urbie to a ride on my Stalker just for fun.

Posted Image

Then, while doing this again with her Kit Fox on Crimson Straight, we managed to take out 5 enemies - my Stalker is a beast, with or without a hat - and they got pissed and started spamming "Reported" and "We are recording enjoy your ban".
Decided to take another look on the ToS, says nothing about doing this, meh.

This has come up a few times because it's freaking awesome. The general ruling seems to be that it's against ToS to ride a slower mech on a faster one to give it a speed boost but not the other way around.

well, since it would be pretty time consuming to check each and every instance on which mech has what kind of engine installed, the convenient way is to just outlaw this completely...

i mean, just as an example, a raven with an STD 100 engine runs at 46kph, battlemaster running on an XL 400 engine goes at 76kph...

Pretty common actually.

Their policy is that you should just take it, and report that person. "You are not judge jury and executioner."

PGI has no idea what its doing, or how to manage a community.
