I played and enjoyed all three of their previous Shadowrun games. I also put money in to their respective KickStarters. So yes, I trust them.

Just keep your expectations realistic before you put any money towards them. They are not going to deliver you a big AAA title with graphics that will blow your eyeballs out and enough content to make it the one and only game you'll ever play for the rest of your life. But HBS knows this and they even come right out and say "We're not promising you the world".

In fact, I'd wholeheartedly recommend you download one of their Shadowrun games and play that to get a rough idea of what to expect.

Well this new thing could be a gamechanger since they got the experience!

Do people that Backed MechWarrior Tactics get Store Credit as far as Backing the Kickstarter :)

They had nothing at all to do with Tactics, nor am I sure what you mean by store as this will be a game you pay for once up front.

Well, it will definitely get the hardcore "we hate clans" people... (Being 3025, won't be clan-IS) anddd it's BT (what most adults with money remember fondly)
and (from what I understand) it's a standalone "buy it once" game... (no micro leeching power creep) to also have a campaign mode
and it is using what is arguably the best thing from MWO- Flying's Art.

Not exactly a shock regarding it's success.

(I will invest soon- wallet is squeezed at the moment.)

To be fair founders packs were available for a fairly long time, or at least longer than 34 days if I remember correctly. So the founders had a longer time to pony up the cash. I still think this new game will have a pretty strong showing on the funding side of things. By the end of next week I think we will hit the 2.5 million mark assuming they get some bumps here and there around paydays, and assuming they get some coverage on gaming sites. By the end 10m might be a possibility, but I am thinking 5m will be more realistic with the final days bump at the end.

It would be cool, but I don't think they'll get anywhere near $5 million. With the stages as presented, they might get $3 million. They need to give us more monetary goals to shoot for to get more than that.

3025 tactical BT with non-mech units is a dream.

I will bet you 10 million it doesn't.

Currently they are at 72% chance of success of reaching the goal. If they are featured on Kickstarter statistically speaking they are up to 89%. Not a given they will reach $2 million.

But looking at the swag they are giving away, how much will it cost to make that jacket you get for a $250 pledge? Overall they are cutting in deep to what they raise with the physical swag. Should have gone the digital route.

Very reasonable. Only the hardcore fans are going to pledge on day 1. The Kickstarter lasts a whole month, and there's no way the money stops rolling in before they make 2 million.

The big question now is: what do they do when they hit 2 million? Are they going to add minor fund goals or are they going to go full Chris Roberts and make gargantuan plans for the most complete Battletech game ever conceived?

25 million stretch goal:
ACTUAL BATTLEMECHS FOR ALL BACKERS

50 million stretch goal:
WE OVERTHROW NATIONAL GOVERNMENTS AND IMPLEMENT OUR OWN FEUDAL SUCCESSION STATES HERE ON EARTH TERRA!

I daresay though that they'll have the usual KickStarter lures up their sleeves, like teasers to be released at the midway point, new artwork, maybe an early gameplay video etc.

This ain't their first rodeo! I can't remember if they did any of this stuff for the shadow run KickStarters though.

If they finish at 3 million $ it would be amazing.
I can't see them go higher then 3 million though. But 2.5 to 3 million would be a great result. I would be happy with any result over 2 million really.
The expanded Mercenary campaign is what interests me most. Would live to see them reach that and the few additional goals of the Merc campaign as well.

The way I've seen these go, my gut feeling is that this will make at least little over 2 million. We'll have to see where the initial push ends. There usually is another one at last 48 hours too. They have a well prepared campaign to keep people's attention so perhaps there will be unusual amount of progress between the pushes as well.

That jacket cut is already produced by many manufacturers (some quality some knockoff), they just gotta get a nice wholesale price and screen print some logos on it.

Would like to know who produces them before I ever shell out that cash. (pray for Alpha Industries)

Those fabric banners tho...got me interested.

Not just screen printing but patches that need to be sewn on. And are they paying for shipping on the swag? Ouch.

They are not - I had to kick in an extra fifteen for the jacket level for shipping.

That said, this is Harebrained Schemes. They're good at controlling scope creep - Hong Kong was the first KS of theirs I went in for and they delivered exactly what they promised exactly when it was promised to ship. Updates from their team in the KS feed were from their producer, who specifically said that his primary job - other than finding money, which we all handled nicely - was to ride herd on the project and ensure that all goals were attainable. They're not going to get quagmired in extra bolt-on design goals post-KS. If anything, they'll do what they did for Hong Kong and declare a new funding goal to be a mini-expansion they can work on after the original game ships.

The Shadowrun series is excellent, and proof that these guys know what's what. I've got full confidence that HBS can make the game they're claiming they can make, and I heartily recommend people chip in their $25 now. Yeah, it'll be a while, but if you want the BattleTech franchise to really come back and catch peoples' attention again - if you want the days where we were a AAA fanbase people went out of their way to develop for back - then you'd best show the people who want money that we have it and we're willing to spend it on our robots.

"Wallet" is the only language these guys speak. If you can spare twenty-five, then we'll be just that little bit closer to the fully realized game HBS wants to make. Let's get there, folks.

According to the KS page, $29,730 was raised through PayPal as of that time yesterday.

lol

It won't. First-person perspective brings a lot to the table. It'll be more like tabletop play with miniatures than this game. You gain control of multiple 'Mechs but lose direct control of aiming.
