There are some similarities with the King Crab for sure. Thats a good thing. The KC is an awsome looking mech.

In fact I have been running the KC knowing that it is practice for running the Marauder to some extent.

Oh, quite right. I certainly am not saying that as a good thing, especially considering the weapon layout, and only a few high placed potential hardpoints. Looking at the geometry of the torso, I find it hard to see it being anything else. Those STs pretty much have to be massive from the sides, so even making it CT hvy from the front, I don't see it being XL friendly. Not even in the Catapult manner.... where you know, you can die fast to ct coring with a std, or die fast to ct coring with an XL.
