I did not know this was a thing. I was going to make a 17 weapon Direwolf-S.

Now my dreams are dashed on the rocks of PGI limitations.

I weep. I mourn my beautiful gun-bristled design spec as I toss it into the garbage for a lesser, 16-gun build...

The weapon screen isn't large enough to accommodate more weapons.

It's been like that for a long time. Nova could exceed it since Clan Launch.

I wish the text would scale or something.

But honestly more than 16 guns is a bit crazy. I will admit this.

Had a 19 weapon dire wolf-s setup. 13 ER small, 4 UAC2, SSRM6 and a SSRM4
Shame I could not use it, think it would have rocked

I don't think there's a single mech variant you can make with 16 weapons (or more) that would actually be any good... they just don't work out very well from what I've seen.

Alas, this thread is useful after all. It made me realize how awful dual AC/20 / UAC/20 builds are due to ghost heat that should not belong.

I mean... really... laser boats are easy mode and UAC/20 needs a heat penalty? Come on. This has got to stop.

Well, ghost heat would have probably killed it anyways.

Except that the Nova doesn't have any hardpoint inflation, and can still exceed the limit.

Load a NVA up with small lasers...

Twelve ER small lasers and four machine guns. I take one in almost every CW drop when I'm dropping clan.

If MGs weren't Terribad, the Nova would be alright at 16 weapons, but right now you're better off removing the 4 MGs and taking more heatsinks.

even at 1 dps machine guns would still be terrible

the problem is that theres no way to put multiple machine guns in one ballistic slot

we need something like machine gun arrays where you can pay extra tonnage to take multiple machine guns in one ballistic hardpoint

Removing or reducing the CoF plus 1dps would be a better place to start.
