the top down shots reminded me of Crimsonland :)

hitboxes look very solid, judging from the footage. then again, there were no 40+ damage alphas flying around.

was hoping for a bit more than a meager 8 extra CT structure. really hope that will be buffed within the new balance paradigm. (just look at current HBK structure quirks on the PTS...)

e: Caustic by night is going to look amazing.

Everytime the crab is destroyed its pose reminds me of "Platoon"

This thread is funny. Baby crab may be much more viable than you think, we will have to wait and see. I don't believe this will be an in-your-face brawler but support...yes very much so.

Thanks,Guys.After looking up the history of this Mech as a fast raider/striker and seeing the scale size, I'm pretty stoked and can't wait for it to drop. You're right. It does look like a cool vintage fighter. But, I really think its going to be a blast to drive. Looks cool + fast = Fun.

"2 days left" until the Crab. I was totally right, the countdown should've started a day earlier!

Hey, at least we know the Crab is almost here. Today is the last full day without having it (at least here with Pacific time) and by golly I'm looking forward to getting my Crabs, even if I can only run MWO every other day. XD

After watching the video came away with two opinions. All meds will benefit from a rescale, crab does it well. And might see some jump sniping again, a mech other than a light that can finally jump.

Bonus: nice looking map.

It's hard to tell from the video if the crab is XL friendly. A lot seem to be surviving without a ST, but they may just be running stock. Also a lot of CT kills.

Looked to me like XL will be a little risky, meaning you can play tanky standards (often keeping 4 weapons after losing a ST), or go all in on speed (and being real, I play most of my hunchies with XL so...). Overall, it looked like shots both to the front and back were spreading really well.

from what I gather, Sean was piloting a stock 27SL, which has an XL engine. didn't seem to cause much trouble though he stayed out of harm's way most of the time.

Impressions from the video:

1) The Crab looks awesome, both inside the cockpit and outside it!

2) Caustic Valley looks awesome now!

3) The Crab handles really well.

4) Caustic Valley has clipping issues.

5) Sean is really rough on his poor Mech's legs!

6) Quirks were underwhelming.

Overall, I like what I'm seeing. I suppose quirks aren't all that important since we're undergoing a rebalance at this time. The new map looks like a significant improvement, although I still see what appears to be a NASCAR appearance in terms of team movements.

Well...
I'm not a fan of it getting that many hardpoints. Smells too much of powercreep (i mean a JUMPING cicada with the most Energy hardpoints? Rubs me the wrong way.)

Good eyes regarding the 6E Cicada. Suddenly I feel appreciated as a customer ;)

I wonder if the Clan mechs (plus the Wolverine and Zeus for that matter) will end up with more hard points than initially expected. A Zeus that had right torso weapons would be unique, and would somewhat make up for the lack of a CT hard point on the loyalty mech.
