I own a logitech G700s.
No matter what I do, it refuses to recognize any of the buttons aside from the mouse-wheel, LMB and RMB.
I have 8 other buttons.
What's up with this? How do I fix it? Do I need to install some drivers? I have the logitech gaming software.

How Do I Get Mwo To Recognize My Mouse Buttons?

G'day Night Thastus,
This really isn't an MWO issue as your additional mouse buttons are non-standard & therefore not supported without PGI writing specific code for your mouse.
That said, I use a logitech G9 mouse with Logitech gaming software. I use logitech gaming software to assign keystroke numbers (3-6) to various buttons on the mouse for weapon groups or other keystokes for various other functions (zoom, arty, UAV)
I also use the software to create different profiles for various mechs depending on their requirments and switch between them via logitch g15 keyboard lcd applet.
If you're having problems setting up or using logitech's gaming software try posting on logitch forums.
cheers,
Muz

Weird. I kinda thought drivers/software would somehow make it work. That's really frustrating. There has to be a better way.
However, so I can make say, one of my buttons be effectively pushing the "3" key? Then bind 3 to something in MWO?

Yep, that's essentially it Night Thastus, bind your extra mouse buttons to keystrokes, then in game assign those keystrokes to commands. I just bind my mouse buttons to the default MWO keys.
It may not be as intuative as you like, but as there is no standard for say "mouse button 7", this is how you use your mouse drivers and logitech's gaming software to make MWO (or any game for that matter) recognise these extra buttons on your mouse.

Something like that but let me give some reference based on my mice. By default 4 of the 6 tics (weapon groupings) are mapped to mouse keys which is partially based on the Microsoft's Intellimouse Explorer mouse (4 button mouse w/wheel).
Suggest making one profile as default so you have a base to work with then set MWO as another profile
1st tic - Left mouse button
2nd tic - Right mouse button
In the Mouse profile, for the 3rd/4th tic, any button set with the BACK or FORWARD command will fire the respective 3rd or 4th tic. (just tested it to be sure/now to make a change on mine

3rd tic - default button set as BACK (default 4th button) (meaning move back a page on browser)
4th tic - default button set as FORWARD (default 5th button)
A pic of the default mouse settings.
