I don't know what it is I want to like this game! Just something about the game that makes it a bit boring. Its a feeling that I can't describe in words really even with the new mechs you drop in its exciting at first but then that excitment goes away. Am I the only one who feels like this? I don't remember not having fun in Mechwarrior 2 this way even if it was only with bots.

Nope. I've always had a few stalwart mechs that I identify as favourites, and I always come back to them after doddling around in any newer steel.

I prefer to hone my skills in mechs that fit me rather than master everything in my garage and wait for the next new machine to drop. I get a far more satisfying sense of progression out of improvements to my playstyle and overall consistency.

I definitely feel more compelled to play longer when I have new mechs. Otherwise I play intermittently. Until I have enough C-bills for something. Or on the rare occasion where I buy mechs from a pack.

I begin to think you didn't understand what I meant by bots I mean't computer players locally in MechWarrior 2. I kinda feel like their should be a Free for All gamemode and all the old classic gamemodes in the old Mechwarrior games. You know like the one where you have to survive waves of mechs as long as you can even though that was local I can imagine it becoming a cooperative experience in this game. Solaris aswell theirs a thing not in the game either maybe a planet but their isnt an arena. I know this is a F2P game and they have to make money somehow but just new mechs isnt the way to go at all.

Nope and I never understood why people do that. Your play skill suffers each time you take a break (so you become crappier as a player). Your understanding of the game suffers which also make you crappier, and usually PGI does a bang up job on hit boxes every time so you always need to give it time before the mech in my opinion has been addressed (especially when there are major issues like the EXE and EBJ which where also bad ct mechs like BK).

But PGI has said they plan to do a better job at getting Hit Boxes ready for release on time instead of being reactive.

The sense of improvement is not really a part of this game, so that might be why you play and then leave. Once your chassis is Mastered, what is there left to do with it but collect a pool of XP for GXP conversion? A game like World of Tanks has a massive skill grind associated with each tank and tank crew, where you could play hundreds of games in pursuit of opening new skill ranks for a variety of tanker skills that have an impact in game.

I can't buy mechs and just not play the game. Doesn't sit right with me. I might back off from using a new mech if it wasn't any good after I master it like the BK and Shadow Cat, but I'll still hang on to them and use them once in a blue moon. I might take a week or two off if all my mechs are mastered, but I always come back because I think the game still has its moments despite the many, many warts.

Beyond combat there is nothing much left to do really..

Poke mech was fun for awhile but not-paulconomy™ saw a stop to that...

And what did you expect in a Mechwarrior game? Even bringing CW into it? If anyone remembers MPBT:3025 there wasn't more to it than fighting over planets to watch it change to your faction's color. I've asked Vassago this before and never got an answer but truly what were you thinking the game was going to be like? That's different from how it currently is?

I guess what we want is a swg style of game where each world has a full world to run around in our mechs between money making "not Solaris" fights?

30 minute matches and respawns may make you feel differently about the game.

Mw2 was fun because you had Campaigns and missions, a sexy sounding Betty, and PPC's that were large enveloping Romulan Plasma Balls. This game would be funner to play too if it had the Campaign missions also.

No I have not figured out how to take any other mechs through other than the ones they offer in the Training Grounds. If I can take my Warhawk in there to gauntlet please explain how to do it.

It's cute that's the only response you can give, to repeat Minimally viable over and over without actually giving an answer with any substance to it. Yet you're still here with thousands of posts. Go figure.
