I want cosmetics. Different geometry. Different hand actuators. Different paint overlays - like the ones we're getting with the reward variants. More colours. MORE CAMO SPECS.

Which is utterly useless if you are not into this primitive/collectors stuff as the OP stated.

The real thing why you might want more camos is because you want to be unique in a virtual world to compensate for the lack of it in the real world.
More camo specs wont make your life better. It will just distract you a little bit more of it.

First, I wanted to post in this thread, but then I thought this is actually a thread on its own and maybe halfway interesting for PGI (as a player sample, not because of me personally)

The current state of my mechbay is:

- I have every Mech I want (~60). I play purely clans and even despite that I have like ~10-20 IS mechs. Just in case.
- CB are piling up (110 million despite decadently redundant module buying)
- I even don't know what to do with my MC (maybe a little camos, meh)

I don't have the primitive collector drives that so many people fall for ("OMG, if I have ALL the stuff, I will surely get the attention of others and/or some female to copulate" I sincerely pity those cavemen).

Needless to say that makes premium time implicitely useless as well. I need neither a CBs nor XP boost anymore.

I don't see me spending anymore money any time soon.
Not because I'm angry (oh wait: that too. One word: CHAT), but MWO offers me no reason to spend money.

Seeing offers like the one mentioned in the linked thread about getting a crappy Gargoyle B or some even more crappier Lostech mech (I already have the OP Thunderbolt mastered and I hope it gets nerfed hard) is boring at best, almost amusing.

I would love to spend money on things like:

- MC-crowd-funded content like new maps, new features like a proper skill system, maybe single player missions in the future. Basically everything except bug fixes (including the damn chat). Or maybe just a Kickstarter project from PGI for a single map. Why not.

- a proper replay function (NOT FRAPS, a replay function. Google it if you don't know what it is). Maybe even with a renting model of 1 MC per server-side stored replay or whatever.

- Mechs with MINOR quirks to give them a true character. Example: Mad Dog designed to be a missile boat with positive missile quirks, TBR getting negative missle quirks to properly distinct the two. So there is actually a reason to buy a Mad Dog. Another example: Warhawk getting some heat dissipation bonuses for being the "heat sink boat", at least in its HS-crammed left torso, but some appropriate maluses as well (to missiles, to ballistics, etc. because it's designed for energy weapons)

PGI fixating its income to (mostly) just new mechs might in the worst case mean to have failing income despite an active player base in the future.

I deduce from your post that you purchased many of your 'mechs with real $. Consider how much money you've already given to the developers of this game (in the hundreds?).

If you think you're boycotting PGI think again.

Not my point and you just act on your jealousy.
Having 60 mechs is hardly bragging in here.
Please try to understand my point.

Hard to see your point through all that BS...Especially when your post things like this.

Maybe in the future some PVE will come out with campagins but yea...should have spent those cbills...dunno what you were saving for.

They could remove the fusion reactors and replace them with coal furnaces that heat a water boiler! I heard something involving steam is planned, and this would make sense financially, because they could then sell coal for MC only.

THATS IT!!!

Version 2.0 of the game;

My mindset for the game is "gotta master em all" (well, all the IS mechs is the first objective). Get all the variants of a mech, master them and then keep the ones i liked. Still working on it with the new variants/chassis coming out all the time. But definately went throught a state like the one you describe. I have all the mechs i'm ever going to need, and new mech packs offer no appeal (with the puntual exception of some unseen, cause nostalgia).

The customization porposals would be a good addition (hangar, decals, custom parts) and i'm all for it. More money for PGI and more personalized game for us.

But what i really miss is new maps and modes to use the mechs already in my stable. Why not map packs? If released first as a cash purchase, later accessible only with active PT and finally made available to all players (aka p2early access) i think it could work, PGI would get a new way to make money and the players get something new to do with their mechs.

Edit: objectv*... as always the phone is not the best way to post <_<

A Solaris expansion would be considered a map pack. Or other expansions maybe in the pve realm. So ya those would be great. To a degree. Sounding like a broken record but the game is to one dimensional at the moment to really make alot of these idea effective. The Warhammer being for sale under these conditions is a perfect example of not getting the most out of a product at the moment. These mechs can be revisited later with new content of some sort so its no big deal, but point made.

They should have a money sink in some customization methodology like EvE online does Rig slots; I have spent billions of ISK on rig replacement looking for differences that amount to a small percentage of change (yea, not an EvE Fit kind of guy); just spend the copious amounts on retro fit and experimentation.

Imagine if modules were like that; permanent and lost if changed.

And add Computer Scripts or something or weapon scripts (i.e. range, damage, duration, heat scripts with draw backs) - permanent on that weapon only - is a sub-set of the weapons in the list so you know them by sight or they are permanent in the mech when scripted.

Any change would be a sink of funds.
